I check the box before, and as usual only 4K UHD Blu-ray is region free. Blu-ray wise is region A and DVD is region 3.

Thanks for the info.

Is hard to get a 4K player with region free... the only is China Brand; BOE and it cost about Rm1k unless opt for Pioneer UDP-LX500 which around Rm4k+?

I'm now having Sony for my Blu-Ray and Pioneer DVD player with Region Free for my old DVD movies especially those with DolbyD Ex and DTS Es.

Stay safe guys!

If you already have region free blu-ray player, then just get any 4K UHD player since 4K UHD disc is always region free.

good advice. i may get one 4k player (maybe the ones you suggested) in the future... not so soon though because i only have like 3 titles in 4k blush.gif furthermore, need to upgrade my other gears to fully access anything 4k to start with. btw, may i know what brand and model of receiver are you using for your 4k experience? apologies if this question is slightly veered off topic sweat.gif

I don't own proper sound system but only a soundbar. Below is my current entertainment system.
  • LG 55" C9 OLED TV (just upgrade, HDR really needs highest nits, huge differences compare with my previous Panasonic EX600K)
  • LG SK9Y 5.1.2 Channel SoundBar (upgradable to 7.1.2 if purchase rear speaker)
  • Panasonic DMP-UB400 4K UHD Player (plan upgrade to Sony UBP-X700 for Dolby Vision support)
  • Apple TV 4K (main device for now, haha!)
  • Mi Box S (seldom use, only use for Dimsum apps)

fadthil Regarding the Sony UBP-X700 4K UHD Player I think I probably not buying already after read so many negative comment where the player often freezing and Dolby Vision need manually turn on or off.

Cost wise, I found that it’s cheaper for me if I bought two machines. One region free Blu-ray/DVD player, and a separate 4K player when I get a 4K TV. The former serves my needs...

Fuhhhh... Nice la.
I tengah pikir mau upgrade OLED too.
Stick with EX600K now 🙈

SK9Y i beli rear speaker. Mantap 💪

IF someone mau upgrade 4K player, i recommended Panasonic UB820. Import version. I beli UK version due voltage same with Malaysia voltage. But problem is i banyak blu ray disc region A locked, cant play with this player. UK is region B locked for blu ray disc. 4K disc no problem.

UB820 memang mantap. Upscale pic for blu ray disc memang cun 💪

Yo! where you get the SK9Y Real Speaker? I can't find. Harvey Norman seems can pre-order. How much you buy?

Also where you get the Panasonic UB820? Amazon UK? or?

I am also using Panasonic EX600K previously, once you upgrade to OLED, you will shock! on the picture quality.
By comparing both, I give EX600K 2 Star where C9 is 5 Star full mark for picture quality.

OLED memang power. ❤️❤️❤️

I got 4K player from Amazon UK. Amazon US pun ada, but beza harga mahal dalam RM500 lebih dari UK version. I amik UK version coz tak mau guna step down Transformer like for US version.
Tapi US blu ray region A locked. Boleh play la disc yang kita ada 😅

Rear speaker SK9Y i order ebay. Seller from Australia. Same voltage like Malaysia too. Tak perlu step down Transformer.
I jumpa rear speaker SK9Y online rasanya dalam RM600 kat Lazada or Shoppee.
HN berapa harga rear speaker tu?

Member on this group @munchoong yang rekemen i beli UB820 ni. Dia banyak ilmu 😁

similar case to blu-ray... i bought PS3 because it was the cheapest blu-ray player i can afford at that time when i first starting up (that's about 13 years ago cool2.gif). but it has its downside as it does not have the features and enhancements of a standalone player. but i get what you mean... nod.gif
