Kindly be informed that your email has been noted.

With reference to the issue, we understand that your are having a hard time in browsing the internet using our YES service inside Paradigm Mall however, you might have to check with the building management whether they have our device repeater for our network to be spread inside the building.
is this a joke...... consumer asking shopping management on behalf of telco or Yes just can't be bother anyhow reply ?

Lodge a complaint to MCMC, tell then that Yes 4G asks customer to do service quality check for them. Hahahaha

They've already plan to shut down Wimax many years ago.
Cuz they already know that Wimax is a sunset technology... And they wanna focus on TDD LTE, where they can just refarm from existing Wimax spectrum they have.

As for the mysterious 800MHz, I have no idea.
It just pop out of nowhere...

Yes 4G LTE means it is the 4G LTE version, not the old WiMax version...

As Yes closed the wimax network. How will we be able to utilise the existing devices that utilises them using yes id? (like Yes huddle/zoom)
As far as I could remember, I dont see any sim card tray for these devices...
*

Those Yes Wimax devices can't be used anymore. You could keep it as a souvenir.
Yes 4G Wimax are forced to upgrade/use LTE devices such as Huddle XS or 4G LTE smartphone models that supports LTE Band 38 (2600MHz), 40 (2300MHz) and 20 (800MHz). And, a Yes 4G LTE SIM card will be provided to use the service.

The new batches of xs huddles will have sim slot right, I saw on their website that they still provides xs huddle (but with 4g lte)

Is it in white colour? If it's white colour, then it is 4G LTE supported.
If it's black, then it's the old Wimax model.

Interested in RM1 unlimited 4G internet prepaid.

But my concern is the coverage and stability, is it very difficult to get 4G LTE signal?
*

Do note that the RM1/day konfem unlimited plan has a speed cap of 4Mbps and hotspot tethering are not allowed.
You can try out Yes 4G network by purchase the prepaid SIM pack, and try do speedtests, video streaming, and observe the signal at places where the reception matters you most,

Make sure your phone supports 2300MHz B40, 2600MHz B38 and 800MHz B20* frequency bands that is used by Yes 4G. If you're using newer phones, then you don't need to worry about these.

Bandwidth management aimed at curbing errant and unfair abusers

We’ve reached out to Yes for clarification and they told us that a segment of their highest network abusers can consume over 600GB of data on a monthly basis. According to the telco, this excessive consumption is mathematically impossible on a mobile device unless engaging in violation of the terms and conditions by using it for P2P or for non-mobile device usage. In some instances, some users were found to consume over 100GB in a single day.

Network Abusers be like: Aiyooo, 600GB per month so little only. This is what you call network abuser ah? I have few other SIM cards with me. I can use until few terabytes per month, or few hundreds GB per day. One SIM card for me not enough.

Ordinary Yes 4G LTE users: Why this Yes 4G LTE so slow?

Oh pity them.... They're still a small telco in Malaysia. Why bully them?
They also want to compete with major telcos like U Mobile by providing unlimited plans to customers.

Or they just want their 4G LTE network to be better utilised? To get some return of investment?
Turns out the effects are opposite now as network abusers are out there to "properly utilise" their underutilised network. Now everyone knows Yes 4G LTE's network became so busy and congested now.

HaHaHa

U Mobile another Idiot...MCMC complaint also don't care....
U Mobile always congested....
*

4Mbps, cannot tether hotspot, the abusers bypass the tether hotspot block, yes still 4Mbps but can download and upload as much as they feel like it to multiple devices at once.

But anyhow, any Yes 4G Konfem unlimited plan users here? Are you still getting 4Mbps speeds?
Although Yes 4G denies that they impose data cap on its Konfem unlimited plans (namely 2GB/day), but some claim that the speed become slower after reaching certain amount of usage per day or something... Is it true?

MCMC should consider increase the amount of fines to telco who fail to provide certain quality of service.

As for U Mobile, I think they rather pay fines to MCMC than to improve its network.
More hassle free, no need so much workforce by hiring experts and engineers to do the job.

Telco like Yes 4G, should just convert into a MVNO telco which uses other telco's network. Their existing network equipment/tower/antennas can just sell to other interested major telcos. The business trend for mobile cellular network is going downwards worldwide. Having too many telcos which theoretically making market more competitive and more choice for the people doesn't benefit the people much any longer these days, as all 4 big telcos also doesn't gain much revenue and profit these days. What would be the things that convinces the public that Yes 4G can go big in the future? Unless they don't mind losing money eventually. They can go invest other stuff to make themselves popular and rich, but for 4G/5G telecommunications, I think they should back off.

Like 5G, did you guys realise that Yes has been very quiet on 5G NR technology? They don't plan to provide 5G services in the future? I don't see them participate in any 5G trials or test beds.
Customer base can't grow much due to lack of sub-1GHz spectrum? Why don't want to partner with other telco (e.g. be a MVNO or roam with other telco if the area doesn't have Yes coverage) similar like what U Mobile did at the beginning? Stubborn to collaborate with other ISP?

If that's what really happening, then I can foresee is, the days of Yes 4G LTE network are numbered.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not anti-Yes 4G... I'm saying is, it's the real world happening out there.
I know they tried very hard to provide good services to customers, but when situation now isn't helping them, they might want to try other alternatives first to grow your business and expand customer base, which I don't see Yes 4G is been doing enough now. Anyhow, I wish for the best for Yes 4G.

Is Yes 4G strong signal for Condo above 10 floors. I am looking for a stable internet solution around Bukit Jalil area.
Currently using Digi Prepaid mobile plan. Not really wanted to subscribe any home bandwidth due to i will move around after few months later.
I wondering is Prepaid and Postpaid are under High Speed internet performance?
I am only having one iphone no extra device.

I am considering Postpaid 15GB RM45 with the Free 4G device.
1 year contract should be fine. Just worry after subscribe but it doesn't meet expectation like Digi which is weak and sometimes no responsive at all especially near midnight hour.
*

Also, I wanna remind you that VoLTE will not work on iPhone, meaning you can't make/receive any phone calls if you use Yes 4G on iPhone (except those Internet-based calls like WhatsApp call).
Mobile data will work as usual.

I strongly advise you to make a report to Digi and tell them the issue you're experiencing. When it's not on any speed cap, could you share on what are the:
- speeds you're getting during day and night time
- iPhone which model
- how many signal bar, 3G or 4G?
- indoor or outdoor

Doesn't matter prepaid or postpaid, speed are the same as long that particular plan does not have any speed cap.
You got to file a complaint to Digi so that they'll take action to solve the network issue there, or else they won't know, and the network problem would stay as it is.

----

If you wanna know which telco has stable (and fast) Internet other than the telco you use now, you try ask around your friends and family that use other telcos like Maxis, Celcom, U Mobile, Unifi Mobile, and find ways to bring them (bring their phone) to the place that you want to have stable Internet, so that you can go test out the telco's network, such as performing speed tests, web browsing, stream videos, etc. And compare which telcos provides the Internet connectivity as what you expected in the area.

Or else, buy a prepaid SIM cards from different telcos and compare the network performance by yourself. That is better than having 1 year contract which you don't know now whether its network is as good as you expect or not.

Since you got the budget of RM45/month and 15GB data usage seems sufficient for you, could you also share on what u usually do on internet, like would you be Facebook-ing a lot, watch YouTube a lot, or just light usage like messaging apps such as WhatsApp, or what?

My consideration of 4G package with RM45 fees cause YES will free a Portablem Modem. I will mostly using the 4G YES service when working at my rented place which is a condo about 10th floor(but there's carparks levels below as well). The operator said 10th floor will have signal weak issue. She recommended apply home fibre which will be a trouble as i am just a tenant.
Btw,  i prefer to keep my DIGI hp number for everyone in my contact.

I will have to control over my addictive in internet activities with that 15GB data limit.
Normal daily routine will be youtube and Facebook... no more P2P stuff with that 15GB.
I found that using HP as hotspot.  The computer is suffer with slower surfing experience. Sometimes showing 4G with 1 or 2 bars, the speed is miserable for youtube. When i purchased 1hour high speed on DIGI, it is smoother loading in youtube at 3G signal full bar.
Lucky daytime is mostly fine. Only late night sometimes it doesn't loading anything when tethering together with computer.
I have to view stuff and do research on my tiny phone screen.

I am fine without 100mbps like Unifi home fibre speed.
Just loading streaming content without too crazy hiccups is a time-saver for me.
Also I need to backward/forward watching 1 hour or long length youtube content like video tutorial for learning stuff.
I am a iPhone SE user.
I am considering buying a 4G modem first. Then testing different Simcard on my own. Maybe i can get rid of signing up 1 year contract.
Any reliable and good connectivity 4G modem i can chosen? I saw alot are like Pendrive design these days.
Not too sure these thin and sleek modem can last long hours of operation and also overheat issue.

You can port out to other telco while remain your current Digi number, so u don't have to worry about losing ur current phone number. You can submit the MNP (mobile number portability) application via online, and almost all telco can do that, except Yes 4G, which u can only do it in selected Yes Store that accepts MNP applications.

I understand that you don't need a super high speed internet, just fast enough ones will do. I was wondering, you use WiFi hotspot and connect to ur computer? Have you tried USB tethering, connect ur iPhone cable to ur computer's USB port, then select "Bluetooth and USB Only" (later u turn off Bluetooth if u don't use it). It'll work just like connecting a LAN cable to ur computer so that you'll get to use stable data connection, instead of relying on WiFi, which is susceptible to interference. You try this method and see if the network improves or not. Cuz getting a pendrive shape modem ones (usually called 4G LTE dongle modem), you need to spend another amount of money to buy the modem, and can only used on computer by inserting to the USB port. And it doesn't seem so "financially efficient" if you just plan to use it only for few months.

Anyhow, I strongly advise u to complain this to Digi, explain to them how this issue has greatly affected how you're doing ur work. They'll try to solve the issue as fast as they can. Remember, you are a paying customer, you have the right to file a complaint if you're not satisfied with the service. Practice your consumer rights. 😉

If you wanna buy multiple SIM cards to try the network, you can insert the sim card to ur iPhone, use USB tethering to ur computer to use and test the network. So not necessary have to buy a 4G dongle modem.

I just bought Yes 4G yesterday. I am going to the store to ask why i cannot turn on Personal Hotspot with it. I see that's quite good 10GB with RM30 compared to Digi prepaid. I haven't bought to try it out yet.

Yes, i am using USB tethering now. Thanks for the explanation in detail bout its stable data connection instead of Wifi connection. I had looked into a few 4G LTE sim card Modem with antenna. It give me a pause to purchase it on the spot. It's around RM379 for dual band model. So my understanding from you is connecting with USB tethering i can enjoy the Full bandwidth already. And its cheaper solution without the modem since my phone can do the job perfectly. And i am the only user and only needed my computer to surf net.
*

So how's the Yes 4G network performance?
And are you sure that you didn't confuse with RM1/day Konfem Unlimited plan. That plan doesn't allow hotspot tethering, and has speed cap of 4Mbps.

Perhaps, have you try to restart your phone?

Actually you'll get 20GB for the RM30.  They'll give you 10GB free once you bought the add-on.

It's supposed to be a temporary promotion but it's been more than a year now.
*

They have to remain the double quota, to make their plans competitive with other prepaid telco plans. Also, it is a marketing tactic to encourage more people to subscribe to the plan as soon as possible, cuz they never know when will it ends, even if Yes 4G intent to make it an ongoing and permanent offer.

This is a common practice among many telcos, but not every offers like this are permanent.

Which mean YES 4G with RM30 for 20GB no speed caps? Free 10GB for each purchase with RM30? That's attractive man. Digi RM35 is 6GB. And those slow speed 2GB free for 30days which is pretty much not that smooth streaming. I had to view youtube at 360p or 480p sometimes if terrible happen. Or just close it if force me to watch at 144p...

My current Digi with that FREE 2GB is 1pm to 7pm. I don't really like this idea. And the speed is like turtle slow.
Sometimes I need to purchase High SPeed Rm1 to boost up the speed as a web loading a page is like forever non-responsive. Once paid for 1 hour High Speed. The loading spell is working~.

Anyhow Digi still have its benefit for free surfing in Facebook and instagram. That's my every hours social app.
*

It's good to hear that you enjoyed the network experience on Yes 4G.
Yes 4G don't have those dedicated quota for video, social media, or whatsoever.
It's just either purely the GBs they're offering to you, or unlimited quota at capped speeds.
If you do the math, Digi is indeed offers a lot more GBs to users, in the form of those video streaming quota, from 1GB everyday at 1-7pm, etc.

If you're experiencing poor network performance on Digi network, like I said earlier, you have to file a complaint to Digi so that they will solve the issue for you. Cuz if you don't, they won't know and the slow network issue will stay there as it is now (and you'll continue to suffer).

You can send a report using MyDigi app, tap the 3 lines button on top left corner, tap Support.
At "Report an Issue" section, select Network Issue.

Also, you can have a live chat with Digi and tell them the network problem by tapping the "small blue button with 3 lines" in it at the top right corner after tapping Support on MyDigi app.
Or you can do it on browser at https://new.digi.com.my/webchat
