YES should folo gx30, validity folo pakej, not folo topap

Basically, Yes wants you to reload RM30 each time, consistently every month, regardless of how much you have in the balance. There, you can enjoy Konfem 4G for 30 days upon reloading RM30.

They want to profit and benefit every Ringgit mah...

QUOTE(tympg @ Nov 3 2019, 01:35 PM)
Top up first time more than enough (example RM100}.  Then buy Konfem from credit.  Top up only when validity is ending.  You can also stop buying Konfem until just after each topup.  Then they are more in sync.
*
tympgYou're right. Just top up right before expiry is the best way to keep in sync.

To ensure uninterrupted service, reload RM30 from the exact day you want to subscribe to Konfem Unlimited plan, and ignore the remaining balance you have in the account because it doesn't matter.

Example now your account validity expires on 15 Dec 2019.
Right on 15 Dec 2019 (starting midnight 12.01am), you topup RM30, then your account validity will start to extend 30 days from the day you topup, not accumulative and "bring forward" your account's existing validity date.

As a result, the account will extend from 15 Dec 2019 to to 14 Jan 2020.
Once you've topup on 15 Dec, then only subscribe to the Konfem Unlimited plan.
It doesn't matter (they don't care) how much you have in your credit balance.

You must topup RM30 every month consistently so that your account validity will extend another 30 days from the day you topup. You can use the remaining balance (after deduct RM30) for other usages, such as calls, SMS, or data addons.

OR

You must have an equivalent to RM30 per month, especially if you one shot topup RM100, so that you don't need to bother the validity thing for the next 100 days upon reload. You can use the remaining balance (after deduct RM30) for other usages, such as calls, SMS, or data addons.

Q: What if account validity is 15 Dec 2019 but I topup RM30 early on 1 Dec 2019, instead of 'last minute topup right before expiry on 15 Dec 2019?
A: The 30 days will start to extend from 1 Dec 2019, so your account will expire on 31 Dec 2019. Your 15 Dec 2019 doesn't count anymore.

Q: What if account validity expires on 15 Feb 2020 but I reload RM30 today (3 Nov 2019), cuz previously I reload RM100+?
A: It will still remain as 15 Feb 2020. Because the date from 3 Nov 2019 to 15 Feb 2020 is "not less than 30 days", so your account validity date will remain.

Q: I have RM200 credit balance but the account validity has expired/grace/passive period. Can I topup RM30 now?
A: Then you can use the total of RM230 for the next 30 days. After that, it'll go back to grace period.
Lesson learn: Yes 4G is not a bank savings account. No point reload so much money inside if you're not gonna use it. There's no benefit in doing that. It's not that they will give you any interests rate also.

I hope you guys understand that now. That is how you keep your account validity and Konfem Unlimited 30 days plan validity it in sync.

If you do the math, that's equivalent to RM365 you got to pay to Yes 4G per year (365 days) to be able to use its service every single day without any interruption.

Maybe they don't impose 4Mbps speed cap when performing speed tests, especially when the speedtest server is to Yes 4G. Have you tried other servers?

The RM30/month Konfem Unlimited plan, speed cap is 4Mbps, no hotspot allowed, that's it.

Yes, because Yes 4G's VoLTE is not available for all iPhone models. Only Android ones can support Yes 4G VoLTE.

If you insert Yes 4G SIM card on any iPhone, only mobile data can be used. No calls.

What a great article... I seriously thought nobody's gonna talk about it publicly.
Where got such thing as trial like providing commercial service to the public for years?

Are anyone using iphones with Yes 4G?
*

Do note that Yes 4G's VoLTE does not work on iPhone. Meaning, you can't make and receive calls on iPhone when you're on Yes 4G network, and you can only access to its mobile data service.
Although VoLTE is supported from iPhone 6 onwards, but if the telco (Yes 4G) don't feel like paying some extra money to Apple for its devices to enable VoLTE, then they'll be like "no VoLTE for you".
That's why Yes 4G only targets Android phone users. biggrin.gif

QUOTE(westlife @ Dec 21 2019, 02:26 PM)
Just bought the yes prepaid sim pack today at yes store.

Just wanted to buy the prepaid sim pack alone at rm10. But the sales lady insisted that I must top up rm30 also in order to get the sim pack. (Totally robber). If not becos that I wanted to try the sim urgently, else I won’t let her robbed me. Maybe I should email Yes to feedback on this matter later.

Initially I put in the SIM card to my HUAWEI mifi. I can surf from my mobile devices that are connected to the mifi. But after a while, it stops working. I am using the rm30 unlimited. I tot initially mifi can work despite from their tnc already mentioned that hotspot is not possible. After that I thought again, initially can work also could be due to the free 1GB data (no speed cap and maybe can tether) that comes with the sim pack.
—————————————————————————————-

My experience as a first timer.

The network speed is really fast. If within coverage, can get  close to the said speed close to 4Mbps for download but upload speed is slow.

No cap can get around 7.xxMbps and faster upload speed also.

But I noticed that yes really cannot be used for indoor. Indoor pretty much no coverage. This can be a big bummer to me.

Initially still thought of MNP to yes. Lucky I only buy the prepaid to try out first. Seriously given the unlimited data at such price, it is really good to stream video etc on the go. However, it really cannot be used as a main line. At most can be used as secondary line for pure data usage.

Now I thinking again whether to go for unifi mobile too. Not sure it will be the same situation or not.
*

Thanks for sharing with us. biggrin.gif
Perhaps you could try Unifi Mobile and see how's the network like too..

Yeah. Will try it out. So far using the bebas unifi mobile prepaid the speed and coverage are quite decent.

Hope the postpaid is ok though. Rm59 price is quite attractive too.

Anyone knows if iPhone 6 Plus supports yes 4G? My iPhone 6 Plus (iOS 10) has no service. However, not sure if upgrade to iOS 12 will help?
*

Yes 4G's VoLTE are not available to every single iPhone models. You can't even use Yes 4G's VoLTE on any iPhone models, regardless of how new or old. Upgrading to whatever iOS versions does not help.

yeah. Indeed. It does not work on my old iPhone 6 Plus and iPad mini 3.

It works on my iPhone SE and iPhone X perfectly.

I think if one has an iPad cellular the newer models that can support yes 4G, it will make quite a perfect data plan for ipad.

iPhone SE and iPhone X works perfectly on Yes 4G?
I know you can surf internet with that, but are you able to make and receive phone calls?

Yes 4G postpaid plans no longer providing unlimited data plans?
https://www.yes.my/4g-lte-postpaid

Yes be like:
"That's it. No more konfem unlimited 4G data for postpaid or whatsoever. The most I give you is unlimited calls."

Yes 4G learnt their lesson? Their network is not so ready to provide high speed possible for high usage users?
So for now, if you want unlimited data from Yes 4G, the prepaid one is your only option now then...

Previously when I use Yes 4G (without subscribing to any plans with speed cap like Konfem Unlimited), almost anywhere I go, I get an average of 30Mbps download.
It's quite consistent 30Mbps... But I hardly see it go above 30Mbps, around Klang Valley area la.. Other place I'm not sure.
It's just my personal experience ya...

But now, when Yes come out those Konfem Unlimited plans, not sure if it's still 30Mbps like those days...

QUOTE(westlife @ Dec 29 2019, 10:50 PM)
I see. That’s very impressive. Yeah. I think lesser user base is one of the main reason why we can get consistent and low latency network on yes.

One thing also like this article said below,  unlike other telcos, yes only runs on pure 4G network, and it does not switch to 3G etc when the signal is poor. So it is either all or nothing, either good speed or no coverage.

https://www.thestar.com.my/lifestyle/living...ence-of-pure-4g
I see. 30Mbps considered quite good speed already.
*

Talking about pure 4G network...
Actually, if you or anyone, wants to experience "pure 4G network" other than Yes 4G, it is possible one...

For now, if you're using Android phone, and you're using either Digi, U Mobile or Unifi Mobile, there is a way you can "force 4G" instead of "4G/3G/2G auto" so that your phone will only connect to 4G network only, at all times.
But make sure your phone supports the telco's VoLTE service, and you've enabled the VoLTE service from your telco. The 3 telcos mentioned, do supports VoLTE.
If without VoLTE, you will not be able to make and receive any phone calls, and only mobile data can be used.
So it is important to take note, if you want to force 4G when on the 3 telcos mentioned.

Let me highlight again, the info above is for Android phone only.
For iPhone / iOS users, force 4G is not possible unless you jailbreak your device.

So it also means, if you go to a place where that telco doesn't have 4G, then you'll get "Emergency calls only" or "No service" just like Yes 4G.
So basically, Yes 4G's "pure 4G network" is just a marketing strategy to promote their network, with supporting fact that Yes 4G is a 4G-only telco.
