Its only fair if compare within Yes' own offerings. And heavy or not, Whatsapp and Zoom and Google Meet are necessary for the primary purpose of the prihatin plan. If YTL give out devices which can't fulfill those basic requirements then they're scamming government's prihatin money.

But what are the apps required by local government schools ? Please share as I also want to know.

And as I read the reply from MCMC before, telcos are based on willing buyer willing seller. So basically there are options but if you choose wrong, then it is buyer's fault.

The few telcos I checked did display what their Prihatin smartphone offerings were but YES 4G only mentioned "Free phone" (YES did later on put the details in the FAQ) but with no details whatsoever and the buyer willingly accept it. So when buyer's remorse kicks in its too late.

I am aware of this also when I willingly click the YES Free Phone + data rather than option 2 which is 30GB data no phone because I do not want money out of pocket and I need a VoLTE phone due to Jendela. With low expectations, I was happy that it came with Android Go rather than Android 7 or below. I am on Tebus RM180.

I don't know how Android Go memory management is yet as there is no much data online. But leaving a few apps in the background will not be good and with a quad core CPU, it will be a bit laggy as you can also see with the Samsung A02.

These are based on expectations and what data I have gathered.

with android go, you can totally forget about multi tasking. i use it purely for single app running only.
1. open duckduckgo browser. visit lowyat forum.
2. open mysejahtera. check out the emergency contact that links to phone.
3. open up phone (haven't made a phone call yet).
4. open duckduckgo browser. the webpage will have to reload biggrin.gif

Which version of Altitude or Alcatel ?

From reviews, I would assume it can run max 2 apps for Altitude 3 and Alcatel 1 and some Android Go phone reviews has only 512 MB RAM.

Depends on schools. Majority is google meet for the actual class, and google classroom for homework. Some teachers prefer to use zoom as google meet has no good moderation (mute all students) functionality.

Dunno why you so keen to blame buyer and absolve telco, and use your own prihatin-ness to justify. By the same logic just because you avoid buying in to an MLM scam means those who got conned into it for whatever reason have to bear the blame, and the actual scammer is blameless?

Thanks for the info.

Like I mentioned in one of my post, I am not loyal to any telcos and change whenever there is a better option for me.

You might have read it as I blame buyer and absolve telcos that is up to you. But what I have always feedback in forums is to consider coverage first above all.

When people start going crazy, I will tend to check if it is true with math and logic, because I am personally invested too. This is the second time so far as the first time I did this kind of investigation was when people started going crazy when TNB first had the discounts.

As this is a forum where we can actively exchange different views, I just propose what I found. You can challenge it like how it should be.

There is little info on Android GO and I am still learning about it.

I don't engage this kind of discussions in FB because FB is mainly fake with either super fake positivity or witch hunting.

Just got SMS from TuneTalk that Jaringan Prihatin registration extended to August 31 2021.

So got extra month to switch to other telcos if you take the data package only. Those with phone package, you will be tied down with contract.

Looks like we were wrong about the Validity

6 June refers to the expiry date of my first 60 days 40GB free data. After that I have never reloaded at all. thankfully they have a Rm 1 option onwards.

No wonder la, yours is the Prihatin version.
Mine is non-Prihatin. I port in to B40 Edition before Mahiadeen announce the Jaringan Prihatin.

I'm just curious if I can redeem the Prihatin phone without getting another line. Need to check with Yes.

As far as I know, you can't port either externally or internally for the phone package. The data only one can.

I used this RM15 10gb plan too. What I usually do is just let it expire and the next day I just buy direct in app the RM15 10gb add on from the add on tab in the app.

This way your phone will automatically extended for 30days as the add on valid for 30 days.
*
Izit that we can't extend for 45days validity with rm15 top-up??E.g. topup Yes4g credit rm15 first for 15days validity, the use the rm15 yes4g credit, purchase the 10gb get another 30days, Correct??

If I'm not mistaken for Kasi Up Prepaid Plan if you topup rm15 inside the app you get 30 days validity.

I have not tried your suggestion because this is my main line I use it for the data. I think if you do like that, ie subscribe 10gb on day 15, you would probably get to use the data for the rest of 15 days (balance from your rm15 topup validity that gave you 30 days in the first place).

wrong
account validity different, internet validity cannot extend (I tested already)
ONLY Digi got "always active" benefit=internet 30days extend account validity

YES topup RM15, you can only use about 30days even though internet not yet expired rclxs0.gif
but Digi topup RM15, you can get 45days if you buy internet RM15 on last day tongue.gif

Anyone here have exceeded their allocated monthly data quota from Yes Prihatin with device plan?

I had exceeded the allocated 15GB quota few days ago (purposely use it up though, I have Unifi 100mbps at home) and now running on reduced speed (up to 512kbps, at par with Hotlink Unlimited Prepaid with fair use reached), just as what Yes described on their FAQ. It is the fastest "basic internet" ever available in the market. (Note that their normal basic internet offered to other plans is up to 128kbps)

Good for social messaging/checking emails, online radio streaming and low resolution videos. Social Media like Facebook and Twitter is fine (well, a little bit slow). Loading webpages will be a little bit slow (will need some patience for that).
Not recommended for downloads though, will take significant time to do so. Hotspot usage is definitely possible (on mobile phone, don't know if there is any restrictions).

The image below is the Speedtest on fast.com (Netflix), running on stable low speeds of 400++ kbps each time I do Speedtest. Yes has whitelisted Speedtest.net site, so the speed on Speedtest is the maximum speed possible for the tower to reach.
