How important? Only people who always upload stuff or need for video call then only they need higher upload speed.

Dear all,

I have 3 issues which I hope to get some feedback / guidance:

1. At this very moment I am getting 100 ms to Singapore servers and it is effecting all my games. I had just reset my modem. Is there anything I should do?

2. I have been playing the same game and I get different latency at different location. At home, my ping is usually 50-60ms. However, when I was at my friend's place, using the same Unifi 5 MBPS, I am only getting 16ms. Is there any reason for this? Should I call TM to check on my house's connection?

3. Youtube eats up a lot of bandwidth. If someone at home is on Youtube, usually my games or even streaming sites start to slow down. Is there a way to limit Youtube's bandwidth etc?

Thanks a lot. Hope to hear from you all soon.

Guys.. how many of you are using the pro plan 100mpbs? is it worth it? or 50mbps is cukup?

My home got my parents running, wechat etc. my sister streaming youtube. me youtube gaming and some light download. Peak usage is normally at night and weekend. I plan to run two android box for my parent's room and living room. I don't need the android boxes as youtube is sufficient for me.

My gripe is, I fear 50mbps may not be sufficient, plus the added promotion of additional rm50 for double the speed is tempting. I'm currently running unibiz 10mpbs which cost around rm240 with calls.

You could always apply for advance 50 and decide to upgrade if you deemed it necessary.

I was thinking so in the beginning, however the sales person over the phone told me, the promotion price is limited to new first time subscribers. If I choose to upgrade later, I will have to pay additional rm20 per month... sweat.gif can someone verify if this is true?

Looks like the agent just want to make more sales to get you sign up 100 instead of 50. Never heard of upgrading users not getting the rm20 rebate. Just make sure you upgrade within RM20 rebate promo period.

Since you're not stating your budget, I would recommend Asus RT-AC5300. Probably the best you could get in the market. Cost around RM1.9k icon_rolleyes.gif

ok.. thanks. I guess I'll try out the 50mbps first.

Btw, has anyone of you tried claiming the tm rewards point? the system only allows email register to our unifi email. unfortunately i recall tm already discontinued our email server services. anyway of getting around?

Free from TM: RGX4400 Very good (maybe also DIR-850L)
RM200: Huawei WS880 (More or less the same thing as RT-AC86U RM1000+ , Linksys EA6900 & Netgear R7000)

If you like to tinker with router: Mikrotik (RM160+)
