yes 2G will be eventually phased out, but not too soon.
circuit-switched voice services is much more proven and reliable than it's 3g and the still new volte.

Still no LTE activation received eventhough applied the activation on Saturday. Tested my prepaid one on my zen pad 8, can run 4G. But umi98 still running H+
