I moved to Perennia in 2020 and have been travelling in and out (with MITI letter of course) almost daily.

From Rimbayu to KL (KLCC, Bukit Bintang and etc) will use MEX. Expensive at RM 8 per trip. Another alternative is Kesas > Awan Besar and MEX, about RM 6 per trip.

From Rimbayu to Kota Damansara, will use Kesas, Persiaran Kewajipan and link back to Ara Damansara. The cost? Free.

If other parts of PJ (SS2, DU), from Kesas, Persiaran Kewajipan, Federal Highway and lastly LDP. Free also.

If PJ Old Town, it will be Kesas, Persiaran Kewajipan and Federal Highway. Free.

Conclusion.

Rimbayu to PJ = free. Traffic needs to monitor from Waze.
Rimbayu to KL = not free, tolled roads ranging from RM 4 to RM 8 per trip.

Only caveat, every appointment need to be at least 1.5 hours early to reach on time.

normal day to day pre-covid around 7AM. That is also pushing it, can reach KD toll in 30-35 minutes, most of the time, heavy traffic but smooth flow, there are stretches where you can further push, even with heavy traffic, you still can cruise around 110-140kmh depending on stretches.

covid time, any time also highway no car. lol
*
can go 110 140 still consider heavy traffic meh

New township only Canal city is within my acceptance, the amenities and highway access is among the best.
GG and Elmina like stay in the middle of nowhere.

So, high possibility to go for subsale in Puchong and Usj area.
Or in the end, still go for canal city.

the answer is clear isnt it, get yourself an unit in city centre, it is not easy to take the traffic twice a day, mentally, backhome already 8pm, later 530am need wake up, hows life ?

It took Kota Kemuning 15 yrs before the first roundabout is widened which eased the congestion ALOT.

How many of us can wait 15 years?

if wait another 15 years, i might move to another location.

Canal city is a nice township to stay, but infra always depends on gov, unless the township very close to highway then developer still can spend some money to get direct access, such as Gamuda Cove. Canal city to Kesas and to Elite still need to pass by other township, it is impossible for Canal city developers to spend plenty of money to get direct access to Elite and Kesas.

Direct access to SKVE still possible, but SKVE is not the much people using it, so it is a bit meaningless to get direct access. WCE also mainly to connect the north cities, if use WCE to get connect Kesas or NVKE still need to enjoy the additional toll fee and traffic with other township.

The only hope is Selangor gov upgrade the road from Canal city to Kota Kemuning , current roundabout is not a prefect solution to smooth the traffic towards Kesas, and also the BSP roundabout to/from Elite toll, it make a heavy traffic during peak hours, and currently Elite highway also quite jam and can become worse after completion of all new township from southern such as gamuda cove, Sepang few new townships

If cannot tolerate and avoid peak hours traffic jam, just buy somewhere else Mr., plenty of other places, new or matured townships to choose in KV.

Canal City here is only for people who don't need to travel during peak hours or for people who die die want canal city environment but don't mind to be stucked in traffic.

Bear in mind until now there is no firm plan to connect CC to WCE as of now. So far the nearest route can connect CC to wce in future is via BSP -> SKVE -> WCE

To be fair kk main circle had 3 expansions in that periods. The only significant on the latest is the left bypass from mcd and the traffic lights. But originally, it was promised with fly over for both KK and Rimau exits.

If from KL, jam free option is MEX but very expensive.

If from Damansara, partial jam free is NKVE. About half the cost of MEX.

The previous "expansion" if we can even call it that was of little to no use. Only the latest 3 lane roundabout did any significant easing of the congestion.

THe flyover was promised during KK being developed/when I bought the house there, after now its been 18(?) years, Im not holding my breath.
