Umm guys? What's all this talk about unlocking? Care to explain plz?

I'm already getting my iPhone and bringing it back here.

Would REALLY appreciate it if some1 told me it doesn't work in M'sia. According to *Apple* staff, it should work fine.

Again, please reply before June. Cause well...u know la.

the phone will be locked to cingular when it is released in US, under cingular only. that means, the phone cant use any network other than cingular until an unlock method or generic/unbranded set is made.

To be even more specific, the standard Maxis/Celcom/Digi SIM card will not work in the locked iPhone.

The iPhone being quad-band GSM phone however will work in roaming mode in Malaysia but using your Cingular (now known as AT&T) account. I believe this is what the Apple staff was referring to.

OMG...I can't believe this!

*shocked* *stunned* *dies*

GRRRR.

I know I hate the iPod, but Apple shouldn't do this to new customers like me.

Bish!!!

Hmm, let me try to recall what Apple staff in MY said, * It'll work here no problems*

Fishers.. All of em. Fish!!! mad.gif

MAybe I'll actually have to consider Nokia, which I also hate, or LG Prada. Google's Phone Switch doesn't seem so bad now either.

Nope. Early 2008 will be January 2008. Latest will be March as that is the end of Q1 2008.

Dopod fan reporting in tongue.gif

Well, with our Ringgit growing stronger against USD, hopefully it will be slightly cheaper when it reaches here

How much.

Besides, if warranty is void, I'd rather wait the 6 months. Anyways, see what Apple in US says.

This is terrible, and I thought I would be able to get an iPhone...Apple doesn't really care about their customers worldwide, that's their big problem. I also hate all these "cracking" and "unlocking" stuff, so I guess I won't be having a phone in a while.
