Can u enlighten on resident office's letter?

Sarawak is big and is split into divisions. Each division has its own Residence (maybe like a division governor).

For states in W Msia, you may have something by a different name. Ask ASNB office on what to without the will.

I'll advice you to go to ASNB and wait for sufficient unit- minimum 100u to open account. I've tried banks but they are not able to view the units availability.
I've managed to open ASM & AS1M for myself earlier this month and today ASW & ASM for my niece at ASNB. Be patience and just wait and re Q to check availability. You just need 100unit to open an account.

nod.gif  nod.gif once one understand the reason behind why not possible to open any account, just need to wait and re Q for it to try your luck. All the Cik Adik there will try their best for you. After each transaction, I'll ask them if it's ok I sit and re Q again. Everyone said, no worry and please retry as many time as I want. Luckily, not many people there. We're the only Chinese investors there.
Unfortunately I have to leave earlier as I have other commitment or I'd have sit there and retry every 15mins until all my cash are gone. hmm.gif

one think I observed at ASNB office. they tend to be more friendly towards non-bumi if u talk to them well & humble.

sometimes don't needed to take Q number, they can try for u thumbsup.gif

once I saw. one auntie sit down & waiting. the staff will try. if no units. they kept the passbook aside. do others customers transaction. later try back again. then the staff called her name. she went to counter. gave one big bundle of cash flex.gif
I donno how long she waiting there. must be whole day I guess thumbsup.gif

Need advice from sifus. My relative opened a ASW account many years ago when newly launched. Those days very hard to top up so he never bother. Inside only min RM100. Over the years he forgot abt this acct and even lost passbook. I told him the acct is considered active unlike normal bank savings acct. Am I right?

He dare not go check or top up $ cos he is a bankrupt (he is making mthly payment to Insolvency but it wont be so soon to clear his bankruptcy status.

Anyone knows whether he can continue investing with ASx even though bankrupt?

No, he will not be allowed. Even he can deposit funds, he's just going to alert the insolvency department that he has other assets and may be able to commit more towards the repayment agreement set by the courts. Similar to banks, the insolvency department will notify ASNB to freeze all assets and any proceeds resulting from these assets would be JIM's first right of refusal until the bankrupted person is cleared from their list.

Just found out, after pengistiharan Amanah they will block 1,000 units from each account ya... Throughout whole period while the contract is in force. Will give back after no more contract

That 1000 units dividend will still be calculated.

Let's assume you have 1500 units. After doing that Pengisytiharan thing, say you want to withdraw rm1k, you cannot. You can only withdraw rm500. But UT doesn't matter cause dividend is still calculated for that RM1k.

Already explained just now and few pages back. Nothing to worry about as mentioned dividend for 1000 units is still counted. That's the most important thing. No? rclxms.gif

Yeah, I'm fine with it.

Btw, is there a thread for estate planning/wills in LYN? Want to compare with this Pengistiharan thing...
