there are many addons that are dependent on other addons, video or programs.

to get rid of some of them, u first need to get rid of all the other(s) that are in the dependency.

sometimes, the message pops out.

so, u need to find out which one(s) are tied to which.

I see. Looks like I have to keep them because I retain some add-ons like Phoenix and Salt. Oh well, maybe I just uninstall all and re-install back whatever I want.

salt is certainly one of those that have dependencies.

i can also think of several addons that depend on sportsdevil; quasar is dependent on the providers.



what happens over time is u will find yr kodi build filled with "garbage", getting annoying messages or errors. then u need to erase completely, reinstall and rebuild. it is for this reason the sooner ones practice on kodi, the better off u will be in the future.

one tip for you - what if u have a good build and wants to keep a backup so that u can continue to play with it but able to put the backup back if necessary?

for your benefit, there is a simple way of doing this - just use es file explorer, get into the folders, save a copy of the folder org.xbmc.kodi. that's your build at any time. simple remove old and paste backup when u want to. u can also this paste that backup build on any other android device with bare kodi installed, i.e. u can "clone".

all those cheap android tv box work like this if we reset it:

- factory firmware loaded.
- automatically install apk(s) in pre-install folder in firmware.
- automatically copy the org.xmbc.kodi from firmware to internal memory.
- tada…kodi is full with junk add-ons again

one can choose to uninstall the kodi with junk comes with the box and install back from google play, or uninstall it then browse the pre-install folder using es file explorer and install it back

I actually plan to re-install Kodi. That's the only app comes with a lot of junks which I don't watch.

wai is telling u that in the event u reset yr box (if it falls into that category ), u will get the original box kodi build again.

i.e. u need to do rebuild your own kodi again after reset.

so, your own backup of org.xbmc.kodi will come in handy then.

Yeah I know. It's OK la even if the backup is gone, I can easily replicate it.
After all my add-on is so little.

i use spmc instead
u can try uninstall kodi then install spmc, use back the confluence skin, it will looks identical with kodi.

there is a org.xbmc.kodi.tar.gz file inside the root folder. you can copy it out to pc and unzip it and see what inside. i extract the default wallpaper for my spmc use

as long no reset your box then the junk add-ons will not come out after uninstall kodi.

others i don't know. my box only comes with mx player 1.8.6, netflix, and kodi 16.1 with that org.xbmc.kodi.tar.gz junk.

after a few years, i am using only ONE addon - quasar.

just for tv shows and movies.

all the rest, i find it easier and better quality with other apps.

interesting, this tar.gz file...

i have not come across it in all my androids.

probably there to make sure new users will get kodi back if they accidentally erase or reset.

I Googled Quasar that day and I think I will add it too.
I guess tonight is the day I will remove my pre-installed Kodi with my own add-ons.
