It's to prop the phone up so the speaker will not be muffled when placed on a flat surface. But it's too small to be effective.

Guys. Anyone have problem with their headphone

I tried connecting rn3 to my car Speaker via aux today. However the phone didn't play the song through the speaker. Instead it play trough the phone speaker.

There is the headphone icon at the top of the notification bar, which means the phone did detect the audio jack being used.

I am using 7.3.5. Any ideas how to fix this?

The original design of the phone won't really be affected by the probability of the user using a case. That lump is really for the speaker.

I had this same problem. Don't know hardware or software issue. Have to twist and turn to get the sound to play via the AUX cable.

directd mostly AP sets (not mi malaysia warranty), just makesure you're getting Pro if you're going for SD version. mi my is sd version only

As long as you're getting the snapdragon variant, you'll be fine as MIUI Global Rom only available for Snapdragon only as of now. Once u flash your device to the GlobalRom, there is not differences with those purchased from mi.com/my except for the warranty coverage.

If you're getting mediatek, you'll be stuck with the MIUI China rom which doesn't come with Google apps by default. But can be added later easily.

Using MIUI8 ChinaDev ROM (6.6.17)
So far my experience with it quite positive. Although it came preinstalled with those China apps, it can be easily uninstalled.

Try upgrading to the latest Xiaomi.eu rom which is based on MIUI8 - https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/6-6-16-17-miui-8.32197/

RN3 snapdragon is much better than RN3 mediatek.
ask the seller to flash ur hp to global rom, so that u dont have to worry bout China bloatware
