Google Camera is considerably more accurate with the colours, compared to the stock MIUI camera
Or you can flash Snap Camera (Qualcomm's) from XDA forums, that one also receive good feedback on improving our photo quality

You won't be able to flash miui roms. I got my bootloader unlock text in less than a week

Official xiaomi set, just received my phone ytd. Booted up the phone and the updater app says update 7.3.2.0 is available so I updated straightaway haha.

Have you request unlock from xiaomi/received sms from xiaomi?
Make sure to unlock in China Dev Rom and not global stable rom.

Can't unlock with global stable rom.
Need wait untill 5-14 days. If lucky can get instantly.

The message is like "
RM0.00 Your unlock request has been approved. Go to https://unlock.update.miui.com to download the unlock tool"

Some people said can unlock in global dev rom, but I suggest use China Dev rom. Much better.

Weekend also counted. That's why I said some users get approval instantly while others like me need to wait. 5-14 days usually.

Yes and no. There are actually pre rooted rom that can be flashed with locked bootloader.
The problem is, xiaomi unlocking procedure is very hassle.Samsung also lock their bootloader but to unlock Samsung bootloader, just change at developer options straight away unlocked. No need wait sms bla bla bla.. This locking just implemented by xiaomi recently only but not done properly. 

I keep getting "Your device isn't supported by Mi Unlock" on the Mi Unlock tool, even though I already received bootloader unlock sms from Xiaomi. Followed this http://en.miui.com/thread-202290-1-1.html to the letter.

Already flashed China dev. Contacted their customer support and they just ask me to wait 10 days for their server to refresh.

The person who came up with the idea of locking bootloaders in Xiaomi deserves to burn in hell.

Already running China dev rom, this is a different error where their servers won't recognise my device yet. When I go to i.mi.com, it shows 0 device connected in the top left but I am able to use the find my device function on the website. Take a look at the latest pages of the thread you posted, got users with beta rom and China dev rom also with same error. Basically they have shitty slow servers and god knows how long do I have to wait.

The unlocking procedure is very annoying, I give you that. But back when Xiaomi didn't unlock bootloaders, vendor modifications went down to kernel level, meaning we had more dangerous spywares and adwares (they had root access), and it was more difficult to remove for the average person. I mean, if now also people dont know how to remove vendor rom, how can we expect them to do the same for kernels, etc.

It's not exactly a popular step lah, I was complaining like hell when my unlocking experience didn't go as smooth as I expected it to be. But then I guess we have to understand that it was necessary for user safety.
