R u sure u played the same disc in both laptop? May be is ur this rmvb file in low resolution. Try to play in other laptop n see ll get the same result or not?

Just take back my V3164au from HP LCD has been changed, mobo changed, keypad also changed, almost everything changed hahaha.   

  After a few weeks, when i tried to play my favourite game Carbon , i found that it can't run as smooth as it used to be(very very very teriblely slow).Therefore, i went to bios check the setting the bios has changed to F22 the new release one and surprisingly i can adjust the graphic memory from 32mb to 128mb. .Then i thought is the bios cause my carbon can not run smooth.So, i flash my bios to the previous version but the problem still can not be solved.
 
  I was frustrated and almost wanna give up.Suddenly, i myself also dun know why. I go to check the gpu temp %^&*( the temp was 90C in idle at that time .It is very weird, this laptop was never reach so high before i sent to warranty.

  Then i suspect the 6150 got problem.So i try to open my laptop.After take out everything from the housing. I check the mobo the CPU is located at the bottom of the mobo means the cpu is face to bottom of the housing but not face to the bottom of keypad.Then i tried to take out the heatsink fan.The heatsink is connect CPU and also the 6150 chipset.After taken out the HSF i found the reason why i can not run my Carbon smoothly.

  The heatsink which contact the 6150 one was never touch the surface of 6150 means they never contact each other.$$^&*(( How come???? %%&*()). No wonder my 6150 keep over heated when i on Carbon but can not play(too lagging).

  Think of a way to keep 6150 and HSF connect.My fren gave me a cooler master ram sink which is taken out from his GC's ram he said the ram too cold ald so taken out.%%^&**().Then i broken up the fins of the HS and sand it until the thickness that just can fit into the space between 6150 and the heatsink.

  After everything was done, i on Carbon again , oh yesssss    Can played ald wakakak . the temp after carbon is 80+- before over 120c (overheat). Idle 60+-.    Spending my whole afternoon but is worth for me. hahaha  
 
  This is the 4th laptop that i have been opened and is the best built quality 1 among 4 laptop's( I6k,acer,acer,compaq)

recently i juz discover that my graphic adapter is showin my maximum graphic memory is just 32mb.
as i know it should have maximum of 128mb if i have 1024mb ram,right?

anyone help help!!

I am using CompaQ Presario V3040TU, running on Windows XP SP2. Everthing is running smoothly until today, when I turn on my lappy, it seem hangs after I login to Windows (I got set password).. The NAV & Norton Int Security has been disabled automatically...and the cursor is on BUSY state when I move to Windows Taskbar.... I cant click anything (Can click desktop thingy but windows cant popup, but cant click the Taskbar) and it continue as so until 10minutes... and I fed up, I restart it using CTRL+ALT+DEL, Shutdown..afterthat I start it again..still same..lastly i off again, wait for 10mins, then on it again, and this time can go into Windows d, seem not mouse cursor not at BUSY state anymore. I cont to use it, doing my assignment. But afterward I can feel lag. I open task manager but the idle CPU process is 99, and no other process is running. Then I uninstall the NAV & NIS, afterward also same...

Now, I on it again..the situation seem same...when login to windows d, only some program can run (show in the clock there)...and I need to wait 15mins for all process to finish load..

I got use Diskkeeper to defrag, and what i remember was I copy around 10GB movie from C:, and 10GB movie from D to dekstop, using USB hardisk...
Any idea on this?    

BTW, can I still upgrade the warranty of my lappy? I bought it on last august 2006....How much to upgrade? And can I send my lappy to HP service center for checkup? Where is the nearest HP serv near Nilai? Got address?

I just got a V3223AU (wth the Vista basic)
Upgraded RAM to 1.5 G
Anyway, I am having problem getting my bluetoth dongle to run properly. I am using this BCM2045A. Driver can be installed. But then the damn thing hangs if i unpug and replug it in. My whole PC just freeze. Any one knows wat's wrong? Or is there any good bluetooth dongle tht will work with this lappie and vista?

dude...ur problem might be kena virus..can do a virus scan???check ur cpu temperature also...and tell us ur finding...

u cant upgrade ur warranty anymore...it only apply when u bought it within 1 month...if i m not mistaken...

Do ur bluetooth driver capable with vista? If not, u have to searching the vista driver from website.

the cpu temp is normal, and i just reformat it d...but now still can feel some lag...dunno what is the problem..can i get it check at HP Service center? where is HP service center?

Also if I want to upgrade RAM, must I do it at HP? can i upgrade myselt? HP using Nanya ram rite? Kingston ram can use anot? scare not compatible...
what is the price of 1GB DDR2 533MHz if I do it at HP?
