Anyone have tried to overclock the 6150 (amd v3000) ?

Any temp monitor for V3164AU(amd),instead of NHC?

I also having the same problem. I think the bios has locked the memory adjusting function.

I was facing a problem with my V3164AU 's usb! When i using thumdrive to transfer file the speed is normal.However,when i try to use my external card reader to transfer the file from my sd card to my laptop the speed is very low.(my laptop dun have internal card reader.)
If i try it on other laptop or desktop it is fine no problem.

1 pc of kingston 512mb 533Mhz and 1 pc of micron (from dell laptop) 256mb 533Mhz.

Nope i'm 100% sure the card reader no problem.This problem is not happen on the card reader only also some heavy duty usb devices.

I did not use any sata driver while i was formatting my V3000.

Try to upadate the latest version of NHC if still the same call HP.


Yup i play most wanted and carbon on V3164AU AMD 6150 !!!!

3hrs with everything adjusted to lowest! such as cpu adjusted to max batt, screen brightness to lowest.! While playing mostwanted with batteri can last for 1hr 45mins!! with medium screen brightness and cpu adjusted to batt optimize. I'm using NHC to control it!

For Carbon or Most Wanted i suggest to have more than 1gb ram on your laptop! Off the motion blur,off anti aliasing, and visual treatment to low. http://www.pbus-167.com/ here is the link for NHC .

DDR = Double D ram
SDR= Single D ram

so ddr has to times 2 .However, sd don't! correct me if i'm wrong.

It is already tested by many of ppl.Don't have to worry it is harmless.Since it can only down clock but can't over clock cpu. If you are using ATI GC, u can use it to OC your ATI GC.

I think both intel and amd can use this function.However,amd user can not adjust the cpu voltage.If there is an update for this function i think i can squeeze more battery life for my V3164AU.

For the time being use windows xp first.Untill more capable drivers being created or more stable then u switch to Vista. Just my 2 cents

I think dual channel can only work when 2 slots of ram are similar.Eg. 1gb + 1gb or 512mb + 512mb. correct me if i'm wrong.

Yo man,u r right i also using kingston ram now and campur with dell oem's ram nothing happen.

last year july i bought kington 1gb 533 for RM 378 now drop to <300. .My fren said the price will be drop again does it true?? Decided to buy 1 more 1gb to run dual channel.

Try to reinstall again. Or update it!

This temp is abnormal u should avoid not to reach above 65c.I'm also a turion x2 user V3164AU amd TL50.After Carbon or Most Wanted (more than 1 hr)cpu only 60c gc 98c hd 55c.

Yo bro is in normal room temp.I get the GPU temp by the nvidia video driver original 1.Now the cpu is 47c hd 47c gpu 63c.

2hrs 45mins sometimes 3hrs depends.my GC temp also around 65.gamming can reach 90.

Off topic just found a new way to use my diy cooling pad.

Just take back my V3164au from HP LCD has been changed, mobo changed, keypad also changed, almost everything changed hahaha.

After a few weeks, when i tried to play my favourite game Carbon , i found that it can't run as smooth as it used to be(very very very teriblely slow).Therefore, i went to bios check the setting the bios has changed to F22 the new release one and surprisingly i can adjust the graphic memory from 32mb to 128mb. .Then i thought is the bios cause my carbon can not run smooth.So, i flash my bios to the previous version but the problem still can not be solved.

I was frustrated and almost wanna give up.Suddenly, i myself also dun know why. I go to check the gpu temp %^&*( the temp was 90C in idle at that time .It is very weird, this laptop was never reach so high before i sent to warranty.

Then i suspect the 6150 got problem.So i try to open my laptop.After take out everything from the housing. I check the mobo the CPU is located at the bottom of the mobo means the cpu is face to bottom of the housing but not face to the bottom of keypad.Then i tried to take out the heatsink fan.The heatsink is connect CPU and also the 6150 chipset.After taken out the HSF i found the reason why i can not run my Carbon smoothly.

The heatsink which contact the 6150 one was never touch the surface of 6150 means they never contact each other.$$^&*(( How come???? %%&*()). No wonder my 6150 keep over heated when i on Carbon but can not play(too lagging).

Think of a way to keep 6150 and HSF connect.My fren gave me a cooler master ram sink which is taken out from his GC's ram he said the ram too cold ald so taken out.%%^&**().Then i broken up the fins of the HS and sand it until the thickness that just can fit into the space between 6150 and the heatsink.

After everything was done, i on Carbon again , oh yesssss Can played ald wakakak . the temp after carbon is 80+- before over 120c (overheat). Idle 60+-. Spending my whole afternoon but is worth for me. hahaha

This is the 4th laptop that i have been opened and is the best built quality 1 among 4 laptop's( I6k,acer,acer,compaq)
