i don realy noe the real prob happen there.however plz clarify if ur lappie an amd-based model o intel-based?i got my full compiled driver for XP windows for my v3010(amd-based with 6150gforce)..if it fits urs, i don mind email it to u.haha.all i noe u need to install ur touchpad as well and get synaptic installed as well together to run smooth.

new v3000 amd-based in the house.....just grab a 2nd hand v3614 for rm1300 yesterday...still have 6 month wrnty from cycom and already upgraded with 1gb ram(will upgrade more soon hehe).....for me its really worth it coz the condition really look like new

right now, i just wanna know....what improvement can i do to make this laptop more powerful the best it can get.....i hope i can learn from all the sifus here

Hi all I'm new here...just bought presario v3716au with additional 1gb ram...currently I'm using vista basic (original one) and I'm wondering if I want to install vista ultimate or premium, is there any problem will arise later such as driver compability? I already download all the driver within compaq website...

second question, my hdd is using SATA, so if I want to install XP instead, is there any problem during formatting session?

so he asked to change another unit and I changed to Asus

Now I don't have any heat/driver problem as I worried.

there will be no question for driver compatibility as its oso a vista.did u heard any prob if u 1 2 upgrade from XP home into XP pro?nope,rite?however if sata, u will need to instal the hdd 1st using sumkind of program or method.i duno coz i never face it in my v3010.some new models can skip that part by disabling the option, some might cant.so u might be one of the Can't.haha.refer to previos post->type sata below the search bar and check how to instal.

My problem about Dota is SOLVED!!!!! biggrin.gif Happy until dunno what to say.

I just follow one of the forummer said, delete the current warcraft3 folder n copy from another pc againn, it works! N now I can play Dota smoothly without any lag at all.

I wonder y is it like this huh? For now, when I open the WarCraft3, the processor utilization only shoot up to 40-50% for both cores from 10%. But for the lag 1(means the previous 1), when i open WarCraft3, the processor utilization shoot up to 100% for both cores hence giving very laggy experience to whole system.

Y is it like this? I dun understand...

Good news, I played dota for 1 hour, GPU stayed at 65C, same as b4 playing dota. Inside aircon room with notebook cooler. nod.gif So I think playing dota in this condition with this lappy won't burn MOBO Yahoooooooooooooooooooooooooo..............

nVidia 7150 is a Graphic Card while Intel x3100 is not a graphic card actually. So very obviously, nVidia is better but doesn't mean it is a good gaming laptop, a gaming laptop should at least have a 8400GS graphic card, or u can tell what game u play n we will c if this lappy suit u or not.

But for gaming, I would not recommend this laptop at all. Better get a Dell if u have tight budget but wan a good gaming laptop. I get Compaq Presario just simply because of it is beautifully designed n very attractive, some more comes with Altec Lansing speaker which is the best laptop speaker from my experiences. N the glossy lcd is just simply nice. nod.gif

There are no heat/driver problem for 3715au given that u r installing Vista but not XP.

Anyway, Asus produce good laptop, just LCD n speaker not as nice as Compaq Presario. But with the same price, I think Asus give a better graphic card n processor.

I am a proud owner of 3715au now...

My RM3k F5RL come with C2D T5450 1.6Ghz and a Radeon X1100

Btw, I can play C&C 3 at low/med setting smoothly with the temperature without exceeding 62 celcius.

Asus is expensive with its brand and quality, i believe.

see.. i said already.. because this happen to me and my friend b4(his pc too many "thing").. it happen when im not removed war3 after formated the pc.. but it only 1/10 chance it will happen..

At least u hav a decent graphic car than the Compaq 1...

Asus is expensive with it's brand and quality? I doubt so, their price range n spec r quite similar to Dell, but I really like their 2 years warranty.

hehe...that's what i'm afraid of...too much of excessive use of the laptop to play game....

yesterday i have test test my laptop with civilization 4.....quite nice la the perfomance , but still not satisfied coz it generate too much heat(in my opinion)almost one whole day playing it....i think i will try to play empire earth 3 soon, coz i wanna see the true ability of my laptop...but i still scared that i might burn my laptop

so what should i do??
