My X2 Turion is running in CnQ mode, anyway to disable it? Also HTL is 800MHz, isn't it suppose to be like 1000MHz?

anybody has Power Now this software ? i heard laptop will getting hot after few hours without this program. Is there Power Monitor same with Power Now ?

this is my 3rd week owning it, so far so good, but sometimes it scares me, occasionally when shutting down, some window will pop up saying something like '...service termination...' kind of thingy, makes me abit worry... n the keypad abit stiff too, not really used to it yet (coz my previous acer not so bad).. so far the temperature is also abit higher than i thought (never try it on my lap yet.. hehe..)

still haven't try its gaming part yet coz all my cds at hometown..

jz hope that i wont regret picking this model for the sake of C2D..

hi guys..i got a problem here..

i owned a Compaq V3250..

my prob is...i can hear a soft hissing or cricket(insect) or buzzing sound...or scratching or watever sound from the left side of my laptop..near to the speaker and TAB button area there..i'm not sure whether the sound comes from the speaker itself or not..

i turned the laptop over n i listen both to the hardisk n memory compartment,i can hear the sound...i dunno wat's wrong and the sound i reli annoying..even though is juz a soft sound..

can anybody offer a help or try to indentify the problem for me??? or shud i bring it to the shop tat i bought my laptop from n let them fix it?

from my experience, its a beautiful sound from ur hdd..aherm..u need waranty services!!!claim it b4 its too late..the worse: u lost all ur data from ur hdd!!!!

hmmm...i did encountered that kind of warning...i think...thats got related to your software installation...maybe not properly installed or you didn't go through the whole process...

it sometimes happened to those installed the *ahem* software...anyway try to check back your software...
hoped what i mentioned is correct...maybe others might have other opinions and better suggestion...as i'm also faced that kind of problems...

erksss...really?....that kind of noises would lead to losing data in HDD...hmmm...would quick call them if encountered that kind of problems...
best not to wait till the big problems occurred...

Power NOW is use to manage the performance of your laptop, example if you run few programs, you can adjust the performance to lower usage, that can reduce your laptop heat.

im not that pro when comes to pc stuff, yet i figure out ome stuff wif my own v3010.i gt my lappie as the 1st batch right be4 the pc fair.my lappie do not have turionx2 sticker but a normal turion sticker and no nvidia sticker.
ur hdd sound may happen due to knocks or mmng it gt prob liaw.i cant confirm if its from the hdd but most d hdd is bhnd ur left palm where u found that area the hottest region.
full waranty can be claim at any authorized waranty centres.in kl is the hp tower in damansara.from kl sentral an rm10 taxi will reach.other places such as melaka, johor bahru etc(mostly big towns) will have waranty centres.they provide services for a full 1 year normaly and 3 years max for extended waranties.a year extended waranty cost rm199.terms:ur pc is in gud condition.they will inform u within 10 working days.by now when u changed ur mobo, they will exchange it wif a hp bios mobo.cons:the heat will rise than b4.
compaq v3k series are wel-known for their black piano cover, so called anti-scratch..its bull-shit.and make sure u have ur palms dry when typing.ur sweat will menghakis the surface of the lappie juz below ur palm.the stickers at the right side will definitely dirty ur lcd frame.
normaly the speakers will damage 1st..for me is my mobo coz i use external speakers.
i wish my content is correct.correct me if im wrong.my lappie is nearly 1 year old.

But mine does got the same sound.. i email to technical assistant he said need to send to them to check 1st.. had used for duno how many month le..

may i know what is NTFS?...how to create a recovery disc?...is it before or after installing OS?...

oh..hmm..u mean.. let say the fault lies in my hdd,they will change the mobo itself also plus the hhd?? or the hdd alone? wil it cost me $$$?? sorry ya...i feel like i sound so noobie...i never have any warranty prob other devices i used...let say i did accidentally ter-knock it le,will i still be able to claim warranty for it?anyway..i take good care of it..dun think i terknock it hard on anything..

i just got my V3412TU today. Order through website with 24 months installment. Get it within 4 working days. All working fine with vista and tomolo i will add in 1gb ram.

and i'm afraid that it isnt ur hdd that made that sound..
near to speaker.. and TAB button..
upper left part is where ur CPU fan placed..

n HDD didnt sound buzzing or scratching.. it's clicking..
ask them to change fan..

if can.. ask them to change HDD oso..

better go for service before the warranty expired
for HDD part, remember to backup some important data 1st

hmm.. another hint for you guys would be..

when i scroll down or up using my mouse or the touchpad..it will give give tat kind of sound..like scratching plastic or something lidat or the buzzin sound..i really dunno how to categorize the sound..or somehow like the un-tuned radio channel..where u get all the distortions..it's just softer compared to the radio thingy..

anyhow..there's a constant sound..kinda un-noticeable under normal conditions unless u put your ear there..but as you do some scrolling,there would be an additional louder buzzing of it..i really tried to figure out where does the sound came from..for the past few days,i heard the sound coming the left side of the laptop..as of today when i wrote this reply,i tried to listen to it agin and tried to pin-point the source of tat sound..i came to notice that the loudest sound came from the place around keypad W, E, R, 3 and 4..

so i dont think it's the fan..the fan wouldnt follow my mouse scrolling..so any idea wat is it??

i don't have much time for now..gonna have my final exam soon..so i gues i'll wait for another moment to get it fixed..so in a meanwhile,i just wanna identify the problem b4 i send it for repair..

guys.. i wanna ask something. My V3412TU with vista ultimate wanna install launch manager but can't get the driver. Anyone can help?
