I thought Compaq is just a sub-brand (which explains why things are stagnant in the design + features side)... HP must have placed greater emphasis on its own "HP" brands rather than the Presario owned by the company it took over...

True true... But this particular V3000-something model that i'm using is actually geared towards making notebooks affordable to the masses... Otherwise, how to explain the really low price of M$1799 for this laptop?

For a Celeron M, it's running really well, IMO... I don't use it for games (obviously!) but its proving to be a great backup / main PC for my work, assignments, and Internet access while waiting for my desktop to come back (fried motherboard... )!

i took a look at hp site, and i didn't see any complete accidental damage like dell, but it does say flat rate parts cost
its not like i'm gonna throw it like a frisbee...

i guess it better to AMD.
i'm using V3313 intel core duo with intel GMA 950 but AMD has Ati or Nvidia graphic card which is 200X better than intel GMA 950.

anyway with intel GMA 950 i still can play online game (supreme Destiny) the game run smooth even thou the game is 3D Imagine if u have Ati or Nvidia built in. i guess u can play More poweful game.

But interm of heat my V3313 produce less heat compare to AMD which blow more hot air. with intel i can barely feel the hot air.

with wht settings ?

This AMD V3417 seem like a good buy at RM2699 with 2.0GHz processor and 1GB RAM...is it out??

I can't play Test Drive Unlimited... installed all OK but play that time JERK like using 486 pc!!!!!!

For other games such as, battle field and so on installed but cannot play. Where it prompt some file missing. Change the CD a few time the the shop and still the same.

Ei, john when u are sell the lappy, do u help customer install software driver?

If i installed chipset driver (provided) my lappy will lag for each min or sec as it wanted something until blank out(refresh). But if use the driver that downloaded from website, it seen more stable. But both driver was same, also for nforce chipset that im currently using. Do u know what was this problem?
