btw, how can i back up my data to memory card?I dont see any backup function/option on P535....anyone can help?thanks

When u purchase your new phone there is a cd with the SPB Backup program.

Install this and it will ask u to go online and it will bring u to a page to register this software for free.

After this there will be an icon in your program folder to backup your files.

Has any one install Chinese lunar calendar program in their asus p535?

hey anyone have experienced this problem before?

under the wireless manager > wifi is gone ( bluetooth and phone still there )

now i have to turn on wifi by going into wifi manager ( settings/connections/wifi manager ) and turning on wifi from the menu

this is probably a WM6 problem rather than the asus phone problem .

I got this problem when first get my P535 from O2 zone. It always hang and the wifi option is gone too. The manual said that wifi and usb cannot be used together. So, most of the time, wifi is gone after connect to pc via usb. I end up very frustrated and hard reset the device, install everything manually, then both problem solved. It might be installation problem at the shop or incompatible applications, but I'm not sure.

yeah i had to hard reset and reinstall everything - kinda a good thing realli - forced me to do a fresh install and this time round, do serial backups installing my core programs stepwise, now pretty confidant cause theres multiple instances of backups i can roll back to.

Found theres loads of games/ programs that was installed but never used .. fresh install = phone faster and zippier !

erm..basically u cant use mp3 for your sms tone. The only way is by using wav file. However, make sure your song from wav file is short, if not when you received message, your tone will ring until it ends. Example: wav file length is 5 mins, your phone will ring exactly 5 mins once u received sms.

In order to set sms tone, install the wave file into your phone memory, not in the sd card. After that, go to sounds & notifications, tab the notifications, scroll down the events to 'messaging: new text message'. Then u can find your song dy juz below the events where they stored basic tones. There you go. biggrin.gif

yes, we can. do note that it will take a while before the sms is sent to all the recipients i.e. the more recipients the longer la of course.

How do you guys switch off the P535?

1. Press the buttton on the top left corner
OR
2. Let the pda go to backlight mode and after that press the hold button on the left side.

Because sometimes when I use method #1 my pda cannot be activated again and I have to soft reset it only after that I can use it again.

No 1 is my choice. no hanging...save battery sumore...but dun press too long-lah or else it will be a total off/soft reset!
the 2nd method will definitely causing your battery to drain faster than usual!! FYI, using no 1 & on low brightness my P535 can last me >3 days & sometime 4 days max. providing you use it solely on call, no BT connected, no wifi & no GPS.. biggrin.gif

I have always been on method 1, are there any other methods to switch off the unit anyway?
Wow, I've never thought about method 2 to "switch off" the pda b4 this lah.
When you think about it, it probably is not considered to be switched off using method 2 as the screen is still on.

if method 1 causes STD (Sleep to Death) to your pda, go check it when it is happening too frequently to be accounted as a minor glitch.

Cheers!

P/S: LoL @ Stimix and his set to dim screen + solely make calls only = max 4 days per charge of battery. How are you Bro Stimix?
