thats your own experience ar? i think would be hard to say cuz different place might take diff time, due to interference from high rises or concrete. P535 has the same GPS specs as my M700 Glofish, and p535 has a faster processor. One of the top line models, GPS for p535 should be one of the top. Through my experience, good GPS models are Dopod p100, m700 Glofish and p535

anyone tested the battery life? this chicky unit looks very impressive in erms of spec. but bundled with such sofisticated features like gps, i wonder if that will kill the battery like no tomorow

just to comment on the look, i think ASUS, P525 is eqully dull looking, so no supriize that for 535's development, they have put in least effort to make better the look. perhaps their focus is just to beef up the spec and wanted to keep th "dull" look for market differentiation.

i bet, they will not do it any better in subsequent models , and doesnt seem this is in their TO-Do list
All PDA phones are por in batt life compare wth normal h/phone. It also depend on the chipset speed..the higher speed the more is the consumption.

For a normal standby time (For all PDA phone wth GPS), u will get about 2-2.5 days w/out call/GPS/BT..Wth BT & few calls/day it will last about 1-1.5days. BUT if u r on GPS the battery will drained within 2 hours!!!

Thus, ppl who invest in GPS phoen or BT GPSr, It is important to get a car charger...

Hi all,
I have bought P535 during CNY, to me the design is simple and nice, everything is nice to play with but I do agree that the battery life is vy weak. I don't think it can last for 1 full day on operation(without GSM). But then again, I'm happy wif it. Compared with Dopod 810, I still prefer the "feel" of p535 instead of 810.

How heavy is your usage? Batt died in <1 day? That's bad!

And may I know how much you got it for?

Thanks. wink.gif

Well,I use it as a normal phone, the battery drop 1% nearly every 2-3min.If i left it on standby mode for one day only uses 10% batt. Normally my batt left 40% with GPS+phone+games(mayb 20mins)+organizing in 1 day. Bought this from PDA expert at rm2888 so warranty wise should be covered by them.

Ok,then warranty by asus. u think my battery problem?i hope not,but its a 1300mah batt.i do agree tat brightness consumes batt life, but it looks way better wif 100% brightness. reducing it will look dull.hope asus comes out with a high mAh batt next time.

Seems like battery life is an issue in the otherwise perfect Asus P535.

I almost won a bid for this unit biggrin.gif

But am now waiting for the ultimate device with built in GPS and also QWERTY keyboard, in the upcoming HTC Kaiser. thumbup.gif

HTC always frickin expensive....

actually p535 the battery not an issue. its the processor, too powerful, consume too much battery.

Hey,

I most probably will be getting the PDA535 over the D810 after much thought.

how do you find the voice call quality?

thx for feedback.

Yes due to its Auto Focus function and a flash which helps in low light condition. Do take note that the AF is optimum for a distance from 8cm to 80 cm.

Its macro also works well and it is activated via software menu unlike Dopod 818 Pro via hardware.
