@ tester: Is the screen flap removable? I kinda find it mafan to hv to flip up n down..hehe. Its RM80 that thing?

hey guys - this question might not be specific for the asus , it's more a general windows mobile 5 question - is there a way to block the sim card contacts from view - atm i'm seeing 2 entries for each contact ..

which casing? silicon? the flap for the silicon can be removed....but the uniqueness of the soft jacket by capdase is the unbreakable flap...

price for the silicon casing is RM120....RM100 after discount.....

last time got sell without the flap...RM80 but long out of stock everywhere....dunno got new stock or not....

can.....need to google for the right directions.....

I went to get the case from the curve earlier in the morning. couldnt find PDA union ... but hit onto to curve's puny little IT section . Bought the capdase silicon case for $45 - the black one ...with the black pda in it - it comes out something like an ash grey colour. The leather case is $80 there.

You can find the GPS antenna connector on the back of the P535. Pick the rubber case, then there will be GPS antenna connector port available. You can use the antenna meet MMCX protocol. The antenna will be active aautomatically.
We have no such accessories available , sorry for any inconvenience .

So it is mmcx type of socket..so can go shopping either at malsingmaps or pc-mobile liow... ..for me an adaptor will do...

FIrst time uploading pictures, so forgive me for errors - the pictures shows evrything BUT the "unbreakable" cover for the screen - i couldnt stand the look, took it off in the car.

The shops name is PDA expert, 3rd floor , the curve - near the 3 other PC shops.

@strik3 > didn't see the white one at the curve's branch - they have another 2 more branches; one in sunway pyramid and another in mid valley. One of the branches should have it. You bought the white limited edition? According to the seller - the ratio of whote to blacks is 1:10. lIMHO looks kinda odd for a guy to use it though....

The leather case is nice at $80, but couldn't see myself flipping that thing open everytime u need to use the PDA.

Yeah..that's why I seldom use the leather case on my ex-hp6515...furthermore looks & feels bulky & thick...Wth silicaon, I can just ignore d clip & slip inside my pocket ...Hmnnn if PDA expert selling at RM45...probably OEM shop outside selling at RM10 ..hehe just joking

anyway......its just matter of time before i dun use any protection liao.....willbe going naked soon....maybe on the 6th month.....

just wondering, when you bought, is there any reason for you not going for the white one?

for me, I was turned off because the white color was milky and not white like ipods......and because I heard from forumers in taiwan that the white color paint easy to chip/peel off.......but I guess different people have different preference....

The silicon cover encases the pda and makes it look terrible .... but have to la, if u have kids who insist on getting their grubby lil fingers on it. Most times .. leave it on, .. go out where u need to impress someone .. take the case off .....
The leather one has a nice professional look to it, smells like leather.., look very canggih unlike this silicon one where it looks like something a teenager will have... sigh..ah well, ....

bought the thing with my GF, she liked the white but said the black looked better for a guy. The onli draw for the white for me was the relative scarcity of it. According to fresh gear guy, ratio of white to blacks out in the market is 1:10. But then maybe it's like that cos the black looks better

anyway, I still have it. now thinking twice if I am going to sell. using the silicon case mostly now but thinking that I should change to the leather when going to meet some executives/clients would be a better impression....haih.....

my gf said exactly the same thing....black is better for a guy.....

i was thinking ahead that when i do actually use it without the casing....the durability of black and looks would be better on me rahter than white....

Huh...all ur comment put me in dilema whether is it necessary to get....as what been said probably new..but when >6mth will go naked.....So probably I will save the Rm45 and prefer go naked ho??

Afterall can always reserve it for some time when u go out say, to the beach or some gps'ing trip in some jungle somewhere ....

i guess its different preference for different people....only so happens that klmc and I share some sentiments on the casings....

i really do agree with him that the silicon casing gives the boyish/teenage feel and looks.....which I would prefer if it gave a more mature feel to it.....

the drawback that I can feel now is that the silicon casing will make the phone a bit difficult to pull out from tight jeans....

otherwise....it serves the purpose of giving protection.....

but one thing definitely....once the fire is not so big anymore.....my p535 will go naked.....of course certain occasions will call for further protection such as going offroad or biking or outdoor vigorous outings....but otherwise....no protection necessary if you are gentle enough.....

just waiting for the 6th month...he he he...meaning about 3.5 months to go....or maybe sooner if I hav my eye on another new gadget...he he he....

Now how do u find the Voice commander? Most of the time it can't recognised my voice except..goodbye, call xxxx..

For eg when I said Start Mapking, it goes to call xxxx...bugs in the "start" function?

One think really cool is the card reader...been playing wth it & snapping so many name cards liow .......was impressed by the accuracy of the detection (well not all the time...)

Interm of satelite accuracy..it is still a mystery to me up to Today....Data collected showed accuracy worst than HP6515 Globallocate chipest but when I plotted on Mapsource or mapedit, Wow a different story...so nice no more track jumping.....

totally impressed with the name card program also.....very accurate.......the only thing I need to edit is to name the person as I would like it to be.....

not so much into GPS as you are....would only consider myself a user......but hopefully with the external antenna.....i will be able to contribute to the community too....

on the voice commander....i dun find any problem with it at all......

only a few chinese name needs special voice recording to get it right.......but my only complain is the voice recongnition failed totally using bluetooth......its like cannot detect any voice pattern at all....always wrong....or try again....try again....then good bye.....

Been hearing a lot of the "goodbyes" too using voice commander ... don't really find it useful - pretty cool in the beginning, but rapidly got tired of looking like an idiot saying a persons name to make a call.

can we use the updated maps from malsing maps for mapking ? or is the feb 2007 maps the most current for mapking ?
