finally got my TIME broadband, they made me wait almost a year and finally it was TIME to switch (get it??), how is it so far? Not very good

signed up for 12months contract
they ate rm300 up-front for their equipment ....ok no problem cause i just didnt wanted to get tied down to a 2 year contact as i have my reservations and reasons

i live in a dubplex(some may have guessed where already), and found that there will be extra charges, fine i went along with it, got ripped off further rm250 (installation)

and finally i had my broadband, was superb speed( 100mbps btw) blown away, at night in my room(upstairs) it jittered but it was still fine

fast forward to today(been almost 2 weeks) i restarted their garbage TP-link C1200 router like 5-6 times already due to super weak net, config the DNS, set the channel so it doesnt clash with neighbor who had em, and yesterday speed test in my around 10pm, i was lucky to get 2mbps

i will be contacting tech support and hopefully get a proper resolution but can i know anyone having this stupid connection issues? whatsapp calls drop alot as well btw

if im using the DIR-850L modem, google DNS will be 8888 for the secondary dsn right? We dont change primary. Can anyone verify?

after replaced my old time router with Mi Router 3G, it does increased the speed madly. thank you jjj2 for helping me a lot! 

Where in the TIME router to change DNS to  other DNS (Using the default time router, TP LINK AC1200).

Is it under: Advanced -> Network -> DHCP Server -> then change primary and secondary DNS to my desired?

Hi, let's isolate equipment & wifi signal coverage factors, thereotically all places will not be much different in performance if followed the same strictest network design, specs requirement & assessment before a particular place is declared ready for service.
Though some places we did notice intermitent connection drops or poorer performance when gets to higher speed caused by poor quality termination.

2nd question is if i am not satisfy with the result,  any chance i can cancel the plan without compensating to time (rm500 as i know ) ?
This is a very subjective question, before comes to this decision, TIME will very much striving their best effort to assist their subs to resolve whatever issues that may be facing.

1) Speed that you obtained if tested via direct cable connection to both Router & ONU. If possible, screenshots them for later use.
Slowness only happens at night time? --  Via direct its touching between 80-96mbps, as for slowness its more like when im upstairs (in my room) when im out at my mini hall i only get upto 20-30mbps, in room below 10mbps....worst 1.7mbps (tested it in my room in the morning before heading to work)
Thanks for the feedback stats Bro. For more accurate proposal, if possible can you let me know the layout of your unit and distance between the current Router position.
Your budget will be much appreciated as well.

2) How is the wireless signal strength detected in your upstairs room ? for the 2.4GHZ signal gets halfed but it toggles between full and half alot, 5hgz is the worst upstairs

Very obviously the Archer C1200 is not capable of covering your unit size. This router is only possible of covering 800--1200 sq ft, even with 1 or 2 walls(especiall ICS/ICB/PCW) in between the signal is greatly weakened.
Mi Router 4 / 3G performs well for 1000--1300sq ft house with good wall penetration (but not the above mentioned wall types).
You can go for higher end models such as what Bro @SilentVampire proposed.
Asus RT-AC1300UHP / Asus RT-AC68U (older model but perform extremely well & stable covering 2000sq ft) / Asus RT-AC88U / TP-Link Archer C7/C9/C3150.

i checked out the router as well and i notice some customer complaints on the wall penetration still being an issue, any thoughts on the xiaomi 4 anthena router ? 

budget wise.....well definately wont be spending 800-900 on it cause its just too expensive

Sigh time is down again in my area. Almost 5 time already in the first two months. Anyone can tell me how can I cancel the service without penalty? I’ve used unifi for 4 years and I experienced less than 3 times outage during that period and even then those were my own hardware issue. I need to work at home a lot and time always going down is really giving me a lot of problem.
