I updated my laptop NIC WiFi driver.
The downlink speed has improved significantly to 9x Mbps.
I'm also using the 5GHz band and forced to operate in AC mode.
*
Not all Wireless N support 5GHz.

Only AC devices can detect 5GHz.
Better performance, low range.

Sorry for stupid question here.
The Time Home Forward for smartphone needs mobile data or WiFi right?
*
Hi, yes.
It needs Internet to work.

At least 3G or 4G is required.
It is not able to use during GSM.

Okay guys, I managed to wiggle out of Unifi contract, so now Im done with Unifi, I need to get Time.

I currently reside in Domain 5, Cyberjaya. How do I go about registring? As I undertand it, it is a monopoly of one company alone?

so ugly. i wouldn't accept that. Was drilling part of the free package? I would have asked them to drill instead
*
Hi, standard procedure will be using drill.

Without drilling is an optional way.

I read some can get 90+Mbps with 2.4ghz here... mine cannot...  sad.gif
*
Hi, for 2.4GHz to get 90+ Mbps.

Your router must be AC1750 and above.

Set the channel bandwidth to 40MHz and the channel to 11.
Only DL speed can reach. UL speed can't.

I'm using TP-Link Archer C9 AC1900. Set the channel channel bandwidth to 40MHz.
My laptop can achieve full speed via Wi-Fi.

2.4Ghz is a very congested frequency. Many wireless devices like dect phones run on 2.4Ghz. Even your microwave oven is 2.4Ghz as well.

The interference issue is very apparent at condominiums where there are a lot of routers in close proximity.

Theoretical wise, it can reach 100Mbps but the maximum throughput is limited by the severe interference.
40Mhz on 2.4Ghz is going to make interference worst and not better. Not many devices in the market support Wireless N 300 as well. smile.gif
*
Ya. I agree with that. However, only laptop are capable of getting full speed.
Most laptops now have 2X2 Antenna Wireless N. All smartphone limit to 72 Mbps only.

Now new technology is getting better today. In the future, all devices will have 5GHz.
Satisfied after changing new router from ZTE ZXHN H298N.

Too bad, not all devices support 5GHz band.
Wait for the future to see it.

i need to constantly off/on my router every day a few times. if not, the speed becomes very slow.

i am thinking to replace the router provided by time (dlink dir850l). what is the good router to replace dlink dir850l? so far i am looking at tplink archer c9 from online reviews. any other recommendation? thanks
*
TP-Link Archer C9 so far so good.

What's your budget and the number of devices connected.
