hi, do TIME still offer to pay the penalty if i port from unifi?
*
You have to pay by yourself.

TIME will deduct RM 500 from your monthly bill.

You can apply over easy switch promo.
For example, 1st bill free. ( Depend on which package that you subscribed.

Normally we don't restart the ONU when it is down.
We restart the router. What's your current stock router?

Hi, you have to purchase your own router.
You may request from the Self care for RM270 including delivery, assemble and installation.

What's your budget?

I recommend you TP-Link or Asus.

If no budget then choose ASUS.

Thanks

Hi Guys, I am currently using Time internet connection. Been noticing frequently that the wireless modem(ZXHN H298N) keeps dropping wireless connection and especially it happens with our laptops. So I thought of using my spare TPlink(TD-W8961ND).

Currently my setup is I have connected lan wire from(ZXHN H298N) to (TD-W8961ND).
Found that the TPlink's wireless connection works much more faster as well no issues with laptop.

Hence I have decided to use TPlink as my permanent wireless modem, but my tplink dont have WAN port as the ZXHN H298N has. Is it possible for me to setup my tplink modem as wireless connection?
*
It is not possible to use your old ADSL router for TIME Fibre.

You must use the router with at least one WAN port.

You may consider upgrading your router.
You can go for Wireless AC router.
Provide the best signal coverage and speed.

Thanks

Hi, thanks for your interest on TIME Fibre.

It seems your building is going to have TIME.
Normally it takes about 6 months at least.
They don't do it very fast, you may get latest updates about on TIME FB Page.

Thanks.

Thanks for sharing your experience with the Tenda. So value is not just about low price biggrin.gif

Is the n18u better than the n66u? I had the n66u before my ac68u and I remember that the n66u was just as stable and strong as my current ac router, if less speedy due to lack of AC support.

I've had other routers before, dlink/tplink/netgear/linksys but I keep going back to Asus..
*
ASUS is the most high end router.
Suitable for heavy usage.

For low budget, get Tenda.
For Medium budget, get TP-Link
For High budget, get ASUS.

So far, most dealers recommended the brands above.

Hi,

I'm currently subscribed to the 100Mbps package and I've recently been experiencing issues with both the LAN and Wi-Fi:

1. On my PC (connected via LAN), the Speedtest (by Ookla) results appear to be lower than what I should be getting.

[attachmentid=8888605]

2. On my phone, connection to both the 5GHz and 2.4GHz is not stable and frequently disconnects.

Is there anyway to identify the problem and fix it?

Thanks.

*
Hi, what's your current stock router?

Try to reset your router.
Ping is OK is but speed is not stable.

Reset as in pressing the reset button or turning the router on and off?

Hi, try to reset your router by pressing the button and set up the PPPoE again.

Thanks

have any Time Internet user experience capped download speed recently? anyway to solve it?

For the pass 2 weeks I've found out that the download speed was capped at 50+/- Mbps download speed, upload have no problem to reach 80-90 Mbps (my package subscribed is 100Mbps).

Filed the report and even the technician came also don't know how to solve it.

[attachmentid=8890395]

only today I found that if I change the Wan Port to 100 Mbps, then only the download speed can be reach 80-90Mbps, if set to 1000Mbps or Auto the speed is capped at +/- 50Mbps again.

[attachmentid=8890396]

Wonder why suddenly have this capped issue happen?  confused.gif  confused.gif

Hi, try to bypass connection to the ONU.

Set to Auto.
Reset your router if this doesn't work.

Step 2: Login ID : admin Password : Blank
Step 3: Go to Settings
Step 4: Go to Internet
Step 5: Click IPv6
Step 6: Set My Internet Connection Is --> PPPoE
Step 7: Set share with IPv4
Step 8: If you have set the IPv4 using Google DNS then you can set IPv6 Google DNS.
Step 9: The Auto Configuration Type --> Select DHCPv6 --> If cannot work --> Set Stateless
Step 10: Click Save

Noob question here. Any advantage using ipv6?
*
1.More Efficient Routing
IPv6 reduces the size of routing tables and makes routing more efficient and hierarchical. IPv6 allows ISPs to aggregate the prefixes of their customers' networks into a single prefix and announce this one prefix to the IPv6 Internet. In addition, in IPv6 networks, fragmentation is handled by the source device, rather than the router, using a protocol for discovery of the path's maximum transmission unit (MTU).
2.More Efficient Packet Processing
IPv6's simplified packet header makes packet processing more efficient. Compared with IPv4, IPv6 contains no IP-level checksum, so the checksum does not need to be recalculated at every router hop. Getting rid of the IP-level checksum was possible because most link-layer technologies already contain checksum and error-control capabilities. In addition, most transport layers, which handle end-to-end connectivity, have a checksum that enables error detection.
3.Directed Data Flows
IPv6 supports multicast rather than broadcast. Multicast allows bandwidth-intensive packet flows (like multimedia streams) to be sent to multiple destinations simultaneously, saving network bandwidth. Disinterested hosts no longer must process broadcast packets. In addition, the IPv6 header has a new field, named Flow Label, that can identify packets belonging to the same flow.
4.Simplified Network Configuration
Address auto-configuration (address assignment) is built in to IPv6. A router will send the prefix of the local link in its router advertisements. A host can generate its own IP address by appending its link-layer (MAC) address, converted into Extended Universal Identifier (EUI) 64-bit format, to the 64 bits of the local link prefix.
5.Support For New Services
By eliminating Network Address Translation (NAT), true end-to-end connectivity at the IP layer is restored, enabling new and valuable services. Peer-to-peer networks are easier to create and maintain, and services such as VoIP and Quality of Service (QoS) become more robust.
6.Security
IPSec, which provides confidentiality, authentication and data integrity, is baked into in IPv6. Because of their potential to carry malware, IPv4 ICMP packets are often blocked by corporate firewalls, but ICMPv6, the implementation of the Internet Control Message Protocol for IPv6, may be permitted because IPSec can be applied to the ICMPv6 packets.

One Disadvantage:
Slow down the speed.

I got the same results as you on my Samsung S8.
Could be my laptop problem then?  hmm.gif
It is using Intel Wireless Dual-band AC 7265.
I have forced 850L to run on AC only!
*
Hi, only 5GHz have the capabilities to achieve up to 100Mbps.

If your 2.4GHz devices are using 2X2 Antenna then it is achievable.

Set your Channel bandwidth to 40MHz then can get up to 50Mbps ++ except the upload speed.
Due to limitation of D-Link 850L as on 2.4GHz limit to 300Mbps only.
If device using Wireless N without 2X2 Antenna then support up to 150Mbps only.
My laptop is achievable of getting 70 - 99 Mbps over Wi-Fi 2.4GHz over 40MHz Channel Bandwidth

2.4GHz wider range, low performance
5GHz low range, high performance

BTW, I'm using TP-Link Archer C9.

Thanks.
