the ping is horrible since last week..im not exaggerating

other than fast youtube and fast game update (due to 100mbps), TIME for me is awful ping and have soft disconnect issue. even Streamyx (not unifi) is more reliable. now i dont know to choose which one. or go with TIME + Battleping/WTFast. in term of stability TIME is lousy
*
Hi,

May I know which game server you ping to ? Do perform a packet routing test before filung a complaint to TIME.
I will check from my end too.
You may drop me an email at support@timefibre.com

Thanks.

Hi guys,
using TIME just a few days, so I already noted a few things.
Upload speed is much weaker (lower) with int'l connection and some local ISP providers in test speed.

Youtube a bit lagging on 4k & 8k contents with LAN connection.
My previous Unifi 50Mbps no problem (maybe IPv6 enable..?).
Any advice..router issue....?

Btw,
is very hard to achive top speed (300/300) in speed test.
*
Hi,

Yes Intl connection to some locations might b slower, we need to check the routing.

Assuming same testing hardware (eg. Pc/lappie) with Unifi & TIME, router could be one of the possibility.
Before proceed to further troubleshooting, since you are able to use LAN connection to your PC/laptop, we advise you to perform a direct ONU connection by bypassing the router.

Can you drop me an email at support@timefibre.com , we will guide you to check further.

Thanks.

You need to minus off the Aug bill which is based on 0% GST that you received aome time ago.

The latest bill is from 1 Sept onwards until your bill cut off date, which is subject to 6% SST.

Thanks for reply, silentvampire, time will give TP-Link Archer C1200 right?
is it this model good?
*
Hi,

It depends on your expectation.

If you are using it for a house size of 800 -- 1200sq ft... assuming positioning somewhere at the centre of the unit, it should work well.

Judging from its pricing of less than RM250, we cant really 'complain' much.

*Note : Latest firmware 20180502 has been released, though not 100% full proof, it reduced its intermitent hang & diaconnection issue.
If you need that, let me know.

Somehow playing with router DNS (8.8.8.8) and IPv6 disabled, I manage to have Youtube without lagging with 4/8K contens.
Now is OK.
Thanks for your advice guys.....

Edit:
My Samsung S5.....wifi 5GHz......TIME stock router C1200 v.1 speed test:

[attachmentid=10022153]

For those who asking about torrent slow down...I getting ~15-20MB/s atm......

So far...so good.....very satisfied with TIME...... thumbup.gif
*
Hi Bro,

Google DNS 8.8.8.8 is already been used ny default on Tplink Archer C1200 router when the installer installed for you.

Possibly could be someone changed it or the router is running on primary DNS (TIME) and ignoring Google DNS (8.8.8.8) as secondary because the primary DNS is still working.

Thanks.

not going to spend 1 sen or lift a finger. thanks for suggestion. btw it was ALL FINE UNTIL LAST SATURDAY, if u still believe it was the router problem i dont know how to explain anymore.

or are u suggesting that TIME give shit router to their customer while streamyx give functional one? ok sorry for my attitude.

Hi,

We understand the inconvenience caused to you, put myself in your shoes, I maybe more frustrated. Everyone here is trying to help, drilling down to the real root cause, as we are not onsite, we appreciate your kind collaboration to work it out together.
Its bit unfair to ask you spend more, hence a few things you could do now or just throw a complain back to TIME and let them resolve it.

1) Login to your TPLink Archer C1200 router, click on top "Advanced" tab --> click "Network" & then "Internet" at the left pane, click on the "Advance" link with an arrow pointing downwards...
Change the Primary DNS to Google (8.8.8.8) or OpenDNS (208.67.222.222) or Cloudflare (1.1.1.1).
Secondary DNS you can use 8.8.4.4 or 208.67.220.220

2) Bypass your router and connect your laptop/pc directly to LAN1 port of the ONU. Create a PPPOE connection on your laptop/pc and test it out again.

3) Packet tracing, if its too much hassle for you, skip this and file a report to TIME.

Thanks.

guys,

i need some technical advice here.

last week unifi upgraded mine to 500Mbps.

my existing router is TPlink AC1200, unifi said can support the speed upgrade.

i only using wifi (no Lan cable).

may i ask: right now my speed test = 40-50m download speed is it normal?

may i ask: right now if i down you tube video at speed 1.5-3.0mb speed is it normal?

how come 500mbps but i only can download speed at 1.5-3.0mb only?
*
Hi Bro,

This router is the same as we are using for TIME installations.

No way you can get wireless up to 500Mbps with it, but LAN connection marginally yes.

* I presume your uncoming 500Mbps is up to at least 75%.
If you are testing on 2.4GHz band, 40-50Mbps is normal with this router.
Try to switch to 5GHz band and test again within the range of 5--8m.
Please screenshot your download speed for us to take a look. Is it MBps or Mbps ?

* Lastly this is TIME thread...you should post on Unifi's. Thanks

@jjj2....how to stop randomly changing IP address...2-3 time a day?

Yesterday night....202.184.28.xxx.......today morning.....61.6.69.xxx.....now.....202.184.7.xxx...... rclxub.gif

Hi smile.gif

That means there are session re-connection happening, since it's Dynamic IP configuration, your IP keeps on changing after each disconnection, but usually this FTTx GPON system is very quick (approx. 3-5 secs), so you won't notice that.

If you want a static/fixed IP, you will need to get one from TIME for a fee.

Anyway, there is a setting in TP-Link Archer C1200, click on "Advanced" tab, click on "Internet" on the left pane, click on "Advance" arrow pointing downwards to expand the configuration page, look for "Connection Mode", select Manually, and enter '0' there.
For other router, set it to "Always On".

* Note that if the provider decides to refresh your connection session, your IP will still change.

Thanks.

I found my modem
Los shown in orange light and router signal on earth sign also orange. Anyone could tell What does this mean ? It suddenly became like this last night was ok.
*
It simply means your your ONU (fiber modem) is in a state of 'Loss of Signal', usually happened when the incoming optic signal is not within the operating range / loss totally.

You need to call TIME @ 1800 18 1818 to file a report.

Meanwhile, try to make sure the fiber connector is seated properly, hold the fiber connector body firmly & gently seat it, you will here a tiny ticking sound if it's properly seated.

Thanks.

Tong sampah, or garbage bin router lol. Honestly though, buying the AC1200 outside is better, as you get the latest version with the latest firmware, and if you do intend to buy outside, I would recommend the Archer C7 v5 or v4, at least, for a decent experience.
