Time isn't great, certain China websites required VPN to access which jeopardized the whole experience, that not happened on Unifi previously.
*
Yes, we vouch for that in certain cases. Any sample websites that we could test ?

Thanks.

Hi All,

Anyone here using ASUS RT87U for TIME 500Mbps ? If yes hows the performance ?
*
We tested both AC87U & AC88U at a 1800sq ft condo, it serves perfectly well...

For AC87U, inside master BR which is approx. 8m away able to get 23x -- 26xMbps on a 300Mbps line.

It mayb vary on your case and you need position your router well to get optimal performance.

Thanks.

Hi,

My friend currently used the Time + Astro IPTV.
Lately he found the internet seem not so stable. He did call helpdesk and they advise to change the router modem cause it might caused from the router modem. Is changing the router modem will help to stable the wireless internet connection?

Do you have any recommended modem for it? Need to have stronger signal which existing wireless signal is low. Modem location at hall but when reach room, the signal very weak and keep disconnecting.
*
What is the current router ? Is it the old Linksys E1200 ?

What you need to change is the Router, you cant change the ONU.

Let us know your area size & your budget. We will propose one for you.

Thanks.

Hi guys.

Currently I'm with Unifi and going to move in to a new house. I'm planning to terminate my Unifi and subscribe Time 100Mbps plan. Will Time reimburse my penalty fee that Unifi is going to charge me should I terminate my plan with them?
*
Please do check out the arrangement we have for you.

Thanks.

Quick question:
I'm using TIME provided TP-Link Archer C1200 router and majority used LAN.
WiFi so far in my small house still can get good coverage and acceptable speed.
Should I change/upgrade my router to higher performance? If yes, which brand/model is recommended?
(Usage: Torrent, youtube, TV Box)
*
It will depends on your budget, area suze & performance required.

Hi FusionXY and jjj2,

Thanks for advise.

Not sure what plan he took, when I do the speed test it seem about 30MB.
Current router was bundled from Time which is ZTE ZXHN H298N.
The house size is about 1460sf and budget about the router is about RM500.
SilentVempire had intro the Asus RT-AC1300UHP seem not bad. Any advise and recommendation?

Thanks in advance.
*
Hi,

ZTE H298N though fairly good in signal penetration but it's merely a 2.4GHz router, you can't get much out of it.

For your unit size & budget, you may go for the followings :

1) Asus RT-AC1300UHP
2) TP-Link Archer C2300
3) TP-Link Archer C9
4) TP-Link Deco M5 (Dual unit)
5) Mi Router Pro
etc.

Thanks.

So far I still acceptable for the speed.
If upgrade router can get higher performance on torrent and TV Box, can consider for it.
What if budget for below RM400?
*
Hard to comment on TVBox part as your streaming server might be the culprit that slowing down.

Go for TP-Link Archer C7 for your budget.

Hi all, I got an issue here

Receive the LOS issue few days back and after Time technician come over, it suspect the spoil part is the connector from the wall. The problem is the cable is kinda short left. If fail then it need to hack the wall and get the cable

Is there any other advise can gimme on this matters

Hi,

This is one of the commonly faced issue.

1) Try to gently pull to see if the drop cable can be pulled out. Usually contractor tends to leave some extra meters rolled in the empty spaces behind the cabinet.

2) Ask the contractor to use a good fast connector and whether he is confident to terminate it once and only once. Most of the SI nowadays are well skilled in this.

3) Last resort, get a fiber contractor to splice it.

If you need any help, do let us know.

Thanks.

Hi Bro,

Before we proceed with the last resort, what's the output reading the technician got from the SC-APC connector ? Had he verified that the fiber core broken inside this fast connector ?

I replied to your pm.

Thanks.

Hey guys, I'm thinking of changing my router as the one that I'm using right now (the cylinder looking router given by Time 2 years ago) is starting to have a lot of connection drops.

Am considering these 2, does anyone have experience with either one?

1. TP-LINK AC1750 C7

2. Tenda AC1900 C18

I have the 100Mbps plan, and hoping to get a router with USB 3.0 to stick a hard drive for file sharing.
*
Both working fairly well & compatible with TIME Fibre Broadband.

Where can I get the TIME PPPoE details? 🤔

Do I have to call them or can I just check on the self care page?
*
Selfcare page doesnt contain that info, you either can refer to the Docket (Work Completion Form) the Installer handed over to you or you may call CS @ 1800 18 1818 to request for it.

Thanks.
