jjj2 has been very helpful and assist me step by step for my apartment TIME installation.
He/She is putting a lot of effort and come out with the best method to pull the fibre cable into my unit (I have plaster ceiling and damn i forgot to ask the wireman to leave puller cable for the fibre optic during renovation, as at that point in time no sign of TIME available yet in my apartment, Unifi got but using VDSL - phone line).

We have been continuously chatting through whatsapp since 30 July, he/she still replying my whatsapp at 3 am in the morning  (u working 24x7 ????)

Finally, today is the day, my TIME installation completed and I'm a happy customer.

Hi may I ask how to determine if the network cable is Cat5 or Cat6? Coz I just check with my interior designer  they said they use Cat5. Doesn’t that actually affects my speed?

Is there any chance that TIME can deliver their services to Adiva @ Desa ParkCity? The entire area is surrounded by areas (WaterFront, North Shore Condominiums) covered by TIME. I'm so sick of the BS by Unifi. Currently on Unifi 100Mbps but I'm really not interested in the guessing game as to whether I'll have the so-called turbo upgrade.

Hi, I knew that is firmware update for router D-Link DIR-850L for the patches of security risk last year.

And my router's firmware is 2 years ago, I clicked update it no response. I have to manual update is it?

I've google but I only found the firmware update for Unifi only.

I just check the network cables in my DB box, I have 2 network cables connected to LAN1 and LAN2 of the Huawei modem. LAN1 is Cat6 labeled on the cable which I connect to the new ASUS router in the living room while LAN2 is Cat 5E which I today connect it to the old TIME TPLink router in the door entrance area. Both routers are connected with the supplied short Cat5e cable. So I guess cable is not the issue.
Cable not an issue (assumption it surpasses the normal Cat5e standard quality & not cheap inferior quality Cat5e cables).

Speed test has significant variance on 5Ghz from download speed of 40-100mbps to upload 400-420mbps. Still upload speed way way faster than download which shouldn’t be the case.
You are on 500Mbps package ? Please check direct ONU speed for the actual speed everytime before you test it thru your router.

Another question is since I m getting the wireman next week  to pull another Cat6 cable from the DB box to my bedroom on 2/F and use the old TPlink router, I decided to connect it to the existing LAN2 to give it a try to see if it’s work but somehow it doesn’t have internet connection. I was told by my friend that only 1 line with WAN? I guess he is saying I can’t have 2 routers the same TIME account? So how can I set this router for upstairs usage? Do I connect it to the LAN1 port of the new ASUS router?
Yes your TP-Link Router should be connected to the LAN ports of your Asus Router.
Suggestion : If you have a Network point at your Living Hall, move this new Asus Router which you have bought to this location (don't put it in the DB Box). And get your wireman to pull this new Cat6 cable from 2/F to the location of this Asus router.
Bear in mind this way has advantage of wireless signal penetration, but you lose out the LAN connectivity for other Network ports which linked back to the DB box.
We can help you to redesign since you gonna pull new cables soon.

Those network cables from modem to network points are those typical blue color shield cables.

I will need to go borrow a laptop with LAN port to perform this direct speedtest at the modem side and shall update here.

Now the headache part is new Cat6 cabling as all my wirings are concealed and it would be messy to pull a new one from living room to upstairs as I always thought it should be done at the modem side. Makes me wonder what are those extra LAN ports on the modem use for? For direct connection to tv, tvbox and desktop?
It's bit hard for me to advise on the structure cabling as I've no visual on your unit. Those extra LAN ports are technically able to use for other devices but it has not opened by Provider, this makes things ugly. If cabling is going to be a big problem for you, try to use powerline solution or Mesh Wifi solution.

I guess my only way is to put the the old TPlink router at the DB box as the main router, connect it to LAN1 of the modem and connect the new Asus router to LAN1 or the TPlink router as AP. Then the new Cat6 cabling will go from the main router up to 2/F for wired connection to my tvbox.

So noone has any idea why this happen?

At the moment, I have router DLINK 2730e plug into my apartment streamyx cable.  At the same time also I have TP LINK AC 1750 link with DLINK 2730e (for housemate that receive poor wifi signal from DLINK 2730e).

If I subscribe to 300MBPS, will i able to optimize the download speed ? I heard/read that sometime the router/modem router have limited download speed capabilities. Thanks in advance

hi, i would like to migrate to Time. I am currently unifi user and recently migrated to KL. Back in my hometown i stayed in landed area and enjoying unifi 100mbps. however in KL i stay in condo and i was told by TM point they can only cater the speed up to 30mbps.

I plan to take time 300mbps. my question should i just register my interest online thru time website or just get in touch with time sales agent? which one can offer me better rebates? and are there any promo/offers/rebates that a new applicant like me can enjoy that i dont aware of? thanks.
