"2.8GHz Prescott CPU and Intel Hyper-Threading technology support
Leveraging the Intel 845GE chipset to support Intel Hyper-Threading up to 2.8GHz P4 Prescott CPUs on 533MHz FSB, DDR333 memory, the P4GE-MX delivers a full-value, high-performance solution for today's most demanding tasks." Does that mean my P4GE-MX can only support up to 2.8GHz only?? |

i see, then the max it can support is 3.06GHz 533fsb i think. Prescott A proc max only 2.8GHz. If it can support 800fsb, the choices are more.
watercooling ofcoz rock~, promise that you have enough cash, enough time, enough effort. |

70C is too hot IMO. better keep the temp below 60C and never above 65C.

You are killing you proc! Better hurry get the thermal paste and apply it. Without the thermal paste, cpu heat are hardly transfer to heatsink, and your cpu is having hot hot sauna below HFS. If you cant find good thermal paste like AS5 etc, at least get non branded thermal paste. Apply very thin layer on cpu. |

no need to lap the hfs and cpu. unless you wanna go for extreme. just clean it with cloth like what shift said. lapping doesnt really boost the cooling performance. It just add the contact surface so that heat can transfer to hfs more efficient. If want to have better temp, better hfs is a must.

QUOTE(shift @ Feb 27 2007, 11:25 PM) hehe..i just wanna ask that question...tq for the information....so..no need to lapping aa ... just clean the older one from the processor and heatsink...and then just apply the new thermal paste.. just like that?? just saw a few cool heatsink and looks so tempting.. hehe...maybe one day i'll change to the real heatsink..... rite now my CPU temp around 51C ...... still ok rite??? u just like me when i was 1st time open my proc...just reuse the thermalpaste.then, for the 2nd time, not apply thermalpaste at all. but that before i bought AS5..already 1.5 years and i'm still cant finish my AS5...hahaha...
