Pengster your memory only able to run in DDR300?Is it your original RAM speed is running at DDR266?Your northwood core should be able to reach at least 3.0GHz with good settings.

QUOTE(irangan @ Jan 8 2007, 05:35 PM) To me the only difference is its BIOS got more things, Vdimm at 3.2V and has OTES and more SATA drives support.IS7-E the limit is its Vdimm, do a Vmod on it and you can get Vdimm of a IC7. Plus you can enable and disable PAT. If you can, get the Abit AI7 if you can't get either the IS7-E/IC7-Max 3:) The best i865 chipset mobo from Abit This post has been edited by shinjite: Jan 9 2007, 11:37 PM |

kabukawie, if your 2.4B stepping is the same as mine C1, then 3 Ghz will be no problem with stock voltage, but to go to 3.4Ghz stable will be at 1.69V
UNLESS yours is a M0 stepping, thats a gem, saw 1 guy have it, 3.51Ghz only needs 1.55V prime stable...shyt >.>" |

QUOTE(raymond5105 @ Jan 4 2007, 05:37 PM) But the difference is the A version is slightly faster than the E version although the E version has higher clock speed and using 1:1 divider.A version is using 5:4 divider so resulting the RAM running at lower speed. You can refer the post screens on page 2. It all depends on the ram's bandwidth efficiency and of course for SuperPI, the 1MB cache does help a lot in high frequencies, we Northwood users will lose. For mine, my 5:4 ratio scores better than my 1:1 ratio in Sandra and SuperPI |

Yaya recently i discovered that using tighter timing on my RAM does boost a bit on the Super PI. For mine, my 5:4 ratio scores better than my 1:1 ratio in Sandra and SuperPI |

Yaya, unsuitable RAM timing will causing your pc to freeze.Especially those tight timing like 2-x-x-x . If want to use those tight timing, need very good and high performance RAM.I see irangan's RAM also can run at tight timing nicely.I guess his value RAM is the best in terms of performance and value in tight timing setting. |

play around, if too tight it will either give you a long beep or it won't boot at all
If it can boot, another symptom is that your comp will freeze then restart XD |
