I've never redeemed MBB Treatpoints yet so am a bit confused. If I have 100k points and I want to redeem the Aeon voucher, do I use the 400 pts or 8000 pts to calculate?

EDIT - oh, I think I figured it out already. With 100k, I will only get about 12 pieces of Aeon RM20 voucher for a total value of RM240, is that right kah?

Just swiped over the weekend using my Visa from M2C. Think almost 2 years did not use this card, still looks brand new coz kept in drawer. So happen need to spend outside my usual cashback categories.

5% weekend cash back. The RM500 minimum spending is for individual card or combined (Amex+Visa)?

Hi, I want to ask regarding credit card payment due date.

I always make my payment around 26~28th on end of the month after I got my salary.

I just made my payment on 27th June. Then Unifi bill come late on last month , it came on 28th June.

Just now I checked my credit card, the payment due date is 11 July. I prefer to pay all of my outstanding together right after I got salary. Does this mean I need to pay on 11 July ? otherwise I will get penalty like interest charges ? How long we should pay our outstanding right after we use our card ? I just got my cards 3 months ago.

Yes, u must pay on or before your credit card statement payment due date, i.e. 11 July 2016 in ur case...
Else, you may call to the bank and ask them to change your statement date to 9th of every month, so that you payment due date will fall on 29th of the month...

Well, if your payment due date is 11th July, that means your statement date is 21st of every month. Then, you don't need to pay for this UniFi. It will only due on 11th August. You just pay the amount stated in statement balance.

Please confirm if your statement date is 21st?

Do a balance transfer to an AEON card. Or even borrow from a relative.

Financial planning is a necessity, banks can become your ah long if you don't pay promptly. And they're legal ah long so you can't even report to police =)

that is why some banks offer 0% EPP, attractive package of CB.. all these kind of promotions gonna lure you into deep financial crisis if you did not plan properly

for my view, if i want to swipe/purchase item worth of RM100k i will make sure i have 100k CASH in hand.. hence i can make my payment in the end of the month

if you can't afford to settle in full amount, banks are happier to earn interests from you and to be exact... u fall into their trap

there is no free lunch in this world as saying goes

Sometimes circumstances are different. Especially suddenly got illness etc. Yes of course you should have insurance blah blah, but again random variables can come in. Suddenly your insurance won't cover (you paid first due to emergency), or policy has lapsed. Not every spending is unforced.

1. there is a statement date, and a payment due date, and they are 21 days apart, ie you have "free" 21 days grace to pay...it make sense to pay at or close to the due date, to maximise returns on your funds left in your savings account... It probably is not much if the amount is small, but if large, it can be significant, over a period of time.

2. You are only obliged to pay whatever is in the statement...whatever spending after the statement date will appear the next statement....

3. Discipline is needed to remember to pay on time...and an option which i use is to leave a standing instruction with the bank to automatically pay the CC bills from my account on the due date every month...

4. If you fail to pay full on the due date, then interests on the outstanding balance kicks in...and this time, the "outstanding" balance includes whatever spending incurred after the statement date...ie, no more interest free periods...

5. the banks LOVES it when you forget to pay on time, or don't pay the full amount....lol

Cash back RM1.5m a month. That translates to RM30m spending a month at 5%.

Let say there are 100K Amex users, that works out to be RM300 spend per person per month.
