QUOTE(livingmonolith @ Apr 6 2016, 05:23 PM)
I currently have another company line with Maxis still. Once the contract tenure runs slightly shorter I will inform my company that I will help bear the penalty charges and port out to help the company save, and will subsequently assist the company lines to all migrate to a different telco.

I terminated my contract at close to RM1k, their operators dared me to do it when I called for the offer, probably because it looked like a huge sum and they thought I wouldn't do so.

Another guy called me this morning to convince me to return to Maxis, I told him unless Maxis print a full page apology on all local papers to the guy from lowyat forum who they accused of lying I don't feel like being attached to such unethical telco, because right now I am experiencing exactly what he went through and Maxis has the galls to publicly claim it was exaggerated.

wow close to 1k penalty sweat.gif

yeah. better to try to port out your company line. save cost. and indirectly u would get better bonus innocent.gif

I've made calculations, if I remain with Maxis throughout the tenure of the contract I will be paying more through that duration, and with 1/3 data of what I'm being offered now by another telco.

I made no real loss, only paid back the phone in full retail price plus RM100 admin fees, but still saved money in the long run.

QUOTE(piGiE @ Apr 6 2016, 06:43 PM)
Dilemma on paying penalty not?

I started using hotlink prepaid package with my very first SonyEricsson T28 Phone during college time 16 17 years ago. I'm one of the so called loyal customer indeed.

After the recent incident i started to review my package and compare with all other telcos offers, then I knew i was fuxk up.
Called up and Live chat with Maxis support, tried to understand the penalty calculation formula for my contract termination as below:

Package: MaxisOne Plan 128 (2 years contract)
Subscription Date: February 2016, 22 months to end contract
iPhone 6S 128GB Contract Price: RM 3265.00 (Retail Price: 4339.00)
Early Termination Penalty: [(Retail Price - Contract Price) / 24 x Outstanding committed months] + Admin Fees
                        : [(RM4339.00 - RM3265.00) / 24 x 22] + RM100.00
                        : RM984.50 + RM100.00
                        : RM 1084.50

YES, I need to folk out RM 1084.50 to untie my contract.

After 5 mins of consideration, I decided to port out with follow conclusions:

1. I can take it as purchased my iPhone via Apple retail shop.
2. I save RM50.00 / Month (With Digi Postpaid 75) from now onward, 22 months means RM1100.00, break even with earlier termination penalty
3. I can enjoy 7GB data per month from now, 2 GB rollover. (Maxis offered 3GB only)

Conclusion: I lose nothing eventually.

Walked in Yellow Man outlet evening to port out from Maxis. When I submitted my MNP request, on the spot I received offer from Maxis really pushing my rage to the limits.

I already with maxis 15 years, never think off change telco. each month almost paying RM 200 because never upgrade to one plan still under traditional voice + data due to maxis never auto update the plan for me. I will just leave it because i dun care about the bill due to i can claim phone bill from company. But after reading through all these article, i decided to give a try to MNP.

I done fill in form in celcom yesterday. Today i am waiting Maxis to call me for counter offer.

Surprisingly i received call from 0328566000, offer me RM 88 free 7GB + 1GB unlimited call sms.

i say  still expensive and i still expecting RM 68 offer , but maxis without further offer, he straight away said thank you bye bye. i was like zzzz.

So after an hour, try to called back 0328566000 but it cannot reach. i just call to 123 ask the customer service to ask that so called loyalty department to call me back

But in the end i no received a call from customer service and loyalty department, received an sms mentioned your port in request has been accepted.
so fuck up maxis although i plan to stay with you. but your department handle MNP customer really like shit.

juz enjoy your celcom plan.

don't think about maxis crap plan anymore.

I think im the last few breed of the remaining...i have been with maxis since 2000 and im having the unlimited data which had been discontinued...but today i voiced out..as from unlimited plans maxis capped it to 10 gb due to fair usage policy...but after reading all the post here i asked myself ...what is unlimited until i see 15 gb offered to customer who port out ....i called cs...after waiting for very long..they picked up and i ask for clarification...how can u define unlimited when u capped me to 10gb due to fair usage policy but u offer to others 15 gb ...which is more than mine...even in english term i could not comprehend the meaning of unlimited could be lesser than those who choose to port out ...basically im using a dualsim and in the first cs conversations the cs seems to be superbly sincere in helping me saying will call me back ..but after 2 days no call and today when i approach the cs..i told her straight to the obvious reason of my calling and yet they told me they could do nothing...hence sorry maxis...i will port out from my existing package as even i sign both package will be cheaper than what im havin now ...from digi + umobile will still be much cheaper and get extra gb of data of ur so called umlimited

juz port out asap.

THis was a year ago. Sharing my episode, I was with maxis with a golden number, a long time ago, probably 17 years, when all mobile  phones have green screens . I went overseas and I called in for suspension of the line. When I came back, I was told that after 3 months, it is automatically terminated. I was held ransom by maxis CSR that if I want to reinstate my golden number, I need to subscribe to the most expensive package at that time. Shame on you Maxis. Less one subscriber for you. I am with digi now, 7GB with unlimited calls.
*
well they wanted to sell your "golden number" at way higher price. I bet there's already people waiting for it even before u terminate it sweat.gif
