Latest update

Previously I said they offer me 7GB for RM88 and unlimited call (another free 1GB for 6 months)

Today I feel quite angry as one of the cs scold my good friend as my friend try to get some offer. So just now I rang them a call, I tell them you give me 7GB only but some customer get 10GB for RM88.

Immediately they pass my line to higher level. After conversation, my offer will be

RM88 for 15GB Data plus free 1GB for next 6 months and another free 1GB for next 1 year.

Which means for next 6 months I will get 17GB, after 6 months I get 16GB, after 1 year I will get 15GB. I think this is the best offer I get so far

i wonder if maxis postpaid can change to prepaid. i am not a maxis user for quite a long time. but i know umobile can do this. and kudos to umobile for that. if maxis can do this kind of service, just change to prepaid first. make it separate. supp line is hard to change plan or port out.

if not, alternatively, u have to break to solely postpaid account. but i dont suggest that, since maxis cheapest plan is expensive. unlike digi, their cheapest plan is RM25 only. then, after you break, its easy to port out. otherwise, its going to be so complicated.
*
yes. can do convert.

but there's some fee

QUOTE(VDread @ Apr 6 2016, 01:10 PM)
Just received a call from Maxis CS earlier.

Currently on MOP158 + one supplementary line, unlimited SMS & calls, 5GB shareable data.

Sofi (she says that was her name) offered me to maintain MOP158 without extending the current contract (which is due to expire in 9 months) but added 5GB to my data quota, which has my data quota bumped to 10GB in total.

This bump in data quota is said to be 'permanent', and will only be revised in the future with customer's consent (so they say).

A catch though, my shareable data to my supplementary line is only 5GB.

Since I was planning to run out my contract anyway, I took the offer and will consider other options once I am no longer obliged to stay with Maxis. Don't want to pay up the  penalty for early termination since it's not worth it.
*
so u pay the same amount but get 5GB data quota extra? correct?

wow that's good offer sweat.gif

I'm seriously planning for porting out from Maxis!

The reasons are not only being paying exorbitantly high monthly fees, Maxis also blocks p2p traffic on LTE/3G. The Maxis CS in 123 confirmed this is their "policy".

Can someone share what other telcos that allow p2p traffic on LTE/3G so that I could make a better choice?
*
juz port out. simple as that.

u might consider Celcom icon_rolleyes.gif

Haha.

At least better than upgrading my plan while on contract. At the very least, the contract duration remains, my monthly commitments unchanged (although it is much higher compared to other telco's offering), and I get a bigger data quota at 10GB.

BUT I will be mightily pissed off if Maxis decides to roll out a new plan in the near future (rumoured this week) that features the same offering at a lower price.
*
well I'm not so sure what are new plan offerings.

so I cannot comment much.

but what I heard is they gonna add 2GB for all current quota hmm.gif

QUOTE(stickynote @ Apr 6 2016, 03:10 PM)
Requested to port out the day before Maxis came out with statement on this. Tried to port out only my line (parents still wanna stay with maxis but it's ok coz theirs not on plan and monthly only rm15 or less). Unable to coz my line is under my dad and told me to bring my dad along to queue up for porting of only my line via separation of line then dunno wait how long period then only get approval bla2. Told me might be up to 1 working week before i can separate then only go request for port out.

No special offer was given when I asked if there's any offer for customer of more than 20 years (dad was one of the very first to subscribe under this telco when it came out in 1993) but just many red tapes and dragging from their end when we want to do port over. Ended up, I just cancelled my whole line altogether. My line was actually the most under my dad's account (monthly about 200+ due to excessively expensive data plan and the many HIDDEN charges by Maxis). Too bad for them and I got a new plan with saving of more than RM120 per month which I used it to pay for the new phone.

I still pay almost the same monthly if i were to be under Maxis but I got a new phone and lesser issues especially when it comes to the many hidden charges under Maxis.

My next step is to persuade my parents to port all lines to Digi or Celcom!
*
good decision u made thumbsup.gif please try to persuade your parents to port out. try to explain all those issue to them. icon_rolleyes.gif

Let's do the maths.

19,000 X avg monthly revenue of say, RM100 per user (actually it is more like RM150) = RM1.9 mil X 12 months = RM22.8 mil. Cost is unchanged but revenue down by RM22.8 mil. That means less RM22.8 mil profit.

Compare with profit after tax of RM1,700 million (2014), RM22.8 mil is approx 1.3% of profit after tax. It is immaterial, so probably that's why MaxShit didn't give a damn about its loyal customers. I think we should make it more painful to MaxShit so that it understand it is not wise to screw the loyal customers. Lets make MaxShit lose 190,000 users by end June 2016. The loss of revenue would be magnified 10 times to RM228 mil. At RM228 mil MaxShit should start to pay attention to the loyal customers.
*
well if want 190k user to port out. there's need for corporate user to join in too sweat.gif

Spoke to 123 operators three times to ask if I'm eligible to obtain the RM68 plan and was declined. Same goes to their twitter MaxisListens, AskMaxis and the Live Chats, all claim that there is no such offer and I will never be able to trigger that plan despite using Maxis for 15 long years.

Went to their centre yesterday evening, at the counter when I was paying up my penalty I asked the staff once more if they are really not going to offer me the RM68 plan and they said no. Went to the Celcom centre next door to register and port out from Maxis.

Less than 2 hours later received a call from 123 "Hi! We're calling from Maxis and we'd like to offer you the RM68 plan with 5gb data plus unlimited calls and sms!"

I asked her if she dialled the wrong number.

u did the right decision to port out.
