Ctrl at Caps Lock Location. smile.gif

For me, my HHKB only plugged in to my mac. I totally disabled my Ctrl, and Ctrl replaced with backspace.
Only use Command and Alt.

Well, if you using Windows, just replace the Command to Ctrl.

Thanks for explanation and clarification.

Okay, thanks. Seems like MX Brown is a popular choice. Ducky it is!
*
Of 5 of my mechanical keyboard (which are all cherry mx brown switches)

I have two from Ducky, one from Filco and another from Coolermaster.

Nosiest but most solid goes to Filco followed by Coolermaster and then Ducky.

For some reason, Ducky Cherry MX Brown is generally quieter than the rest.

I don't see a need for a mechanical calculator since I will always be at close proximity of a computer with Excel or Calculator software with my mechanical keyboards.

Even the phones can serve as a decent calculator these days.

I'm super lazy to copy the html and put it in dedicated lowyat bbcode already. I just link everything for future review and guides.

Top unit looks like rgb with a row of macro keys, multimedia keys and....  Standard layout!
*
I like how the keys stand out (slightly above from the base).

I am not too particular with RGB lighting on the keyboards. Of 5 of my mechanical keyboards only 3 of them have lightings, mainly blue, dark purple and white.

Wait for k70 lux mx blue or get the ducky one backlit mx blue?

Frankly, I will just go with Ducky one (unless you have a mechanical keyboard already).

Immediate use of mechanical keyboard would be recommended.

Owned a ducky zero, mx brown. I plan to bring that to the office and buy a mx blue for my house. Now eyeing the Corsair Strafe RGB mx blue or the k70 lux rgb mx blue, or maybe the cheaper Ducky One mx blue with backlit. Any further recommendations?
*
I won't suggest using cherry mx brown in office unless you don't intend to bottom out all the time.

I would suggest going for Topre switches for office (since it will be for mainly typing) and far more silent than cherry MX brown.

recommending topre is a bit over the top, not many ppl will fork out 800 for a keyboard, especially coming from cherry mx
*
Quite a number forumers have Topre keyboards here.

There is a cheap variant from Coolermaster.

I have been using Realforce Topre keyboard at work for more than 5 years.

Cooler Master Novatouch TKL is EOL as well. Well, can't say it's cheap, because the pricing is competitive during RF and HHKB time.
But, the currency now made it like cheap only.
Among dozen (30g, all 45g, variable, 55g, silence 45g, hhkb, type-s, hhkb 55g modded, type-s 55g, rf23, rf23 55g modded, novatouch) of Topre boards I tried. Novatouch got the best of the two worlds (typing + layout).
*
Wow already EOL, didn't know that.

I am curious how long my Topre Realforce will last since it has been 5 years and I used it almost 5 days per week from 9 am to 6-7pm.

Can last more than 10 years.. Anything rosak, just replace it. switch, spring, pcb, domes, keycaps.
As simple as that. The casing of RF is extraordinary, can disassemble without screw. smile.gif

That's how topre mkb user can enjoy oneness of cup rubber.
*
Cool, thanks. Could you also show me where I can get the parts from?

That would be helpful.

For the pricing, I believed it's dead stock and want to let go as fast as possible. smile.gif

Backlit definitely interesting. thumbup.gif

Personally, I don't find backlit useful for long hours typist like me, because it strains my eyes. Haha
*
Same here, I don't find backlight being useful for office or at home. Only for applicable when the room is too dark which usually rarely the case.

Frankly, I like the Das Keyboard or Filco Ninja without any labels for the individual keys.

Forgot to mention, I've emailed Royal Kludge recently about their RC930-87, also a Topre clone with RGB but in TKL form, enquiring as to when we can expect a version 2 since the 104 key model already has a v2. FYI, RK is the cheapest Topre Clone (with RGB to boot!) available now

What is the estimate street price for this topre keyboard?

From what I can see on Taobao, prices range around RMB 450-550 excluding shipping. On aliexpress, lowest I've seen is going for USD126+ shipped for 55g RGB. Problem though is these are all very likely version 1. The main noticeable difference between v1 and v2 is the switch housing, translucent for v1, transparent for v2.

EDIT: RC930-108 v2 on Massdrop

Does anybody have any experience or own the Corsair K65 and / or Corsair K70 keyboards?

Based on their website, Corsair K65 doesn't come in Brown Switches. As such, I probably will not consider Corsair K65.
