I hit on a pothole another day. Didn't bother to check on the Tyre until today when I wash my car.
I know I need to replace ASAP, but how long can it last for now? Only 5 months Tyre. Demmit.

Haha detailing thread a bit quiet for the new year.

Maybe many more ironman records being broken brows.gif

Anyways, with CNY around the corner, that means hot sunny weather mostly so lack of water beading shots. biggrin.gif

This year I'm gonna try cheap coating layering approach. Cheap coating usually lasts 3 months so my target is layering every 3 months myself after some decontamination wash, haha. Still looking for good decontamination wash shampoo tho.

Wow. Haha 9H type?

Saw Osren selling some coating as well but didn't go down that route.

Seen some Youtube videos for coating and it looks fairly normal procedure in terms of just applying the coat evenly using the pad/sponge then letting it cure... Hmm..  hmm.gif

Shall look forward to your updates and sharing bro!

Mr fix ?
You cant complain for the price , u can expect 1 month .
*
Initially thought of that, but saw review recent batch seems not good and not authentic, can burn with fire. Some said this brand was not trademark registered so everyone can produce and come out same packaging.

I bought the more expensive one uses by 1 coating shop, around RM126. My car was coated from that shop before and for 3-4 months water beading was nice but gone due to negligence and stained by burnt joss paper ashes and big fireworks show residues from neighborhood.

I hope 1 bottle 30ml can lasts 3 attempts as I will try to apply thin for layering purpose only.

Didn't try it out yet. It rained heavily again thereafter throughout the night.

As expected, the moment sun comes out, the water beads leaves a sandy/dusty residue on the surface if it dries out.

So, this morning managed to give car a quick wash with the HCW method again.. brows.gif

Soft99 "MC" silver tin cleaner wax water beading lost 99% to ceramic coating. Saturday spent a few hours rub rub the car with this "MC", damn tiring but able to wipe out many dirt.

3 hand applicator, really not enough but I don't have more. superb dirty although paint just resprayed 2 months back and I DIY polished last month..

Just work bro.

That one more like paint cleaner I suppose.

Now left one awesome layer of coating/spray and your car will bead like crazy brows.gif
*
this car was resprayed but cheap cat layang paint 2 months back, so I will use Mirror Gloss Sealant instead. Will wait 2 weeks for the soft99 cleaning petroleum residue to evaporate out then I will spray with MGS. cool2.gif

Almost ALL wax and sealant have petroleum distilled  , meguiar 3d and many of them have petroleum distilled .
*
Yes that's why I'm waiting a while before apply sealant.
But TurtleWax White Polish Cream in another hand don't have the petroleum smell, it smell nicer like fragrance added.

what car wash mitt and drying towel did you guys use? any recommendation? wanna shop for a pair.

i just realise i have been washing my car wrongly for the past a couple of years. my gosh.
*
Lol, there's no right or wrong the way you detailing your car, many many recipe. Example my dad pour wax liquid and car wash to make it wash and wax, which is funny but hey "it might works" which we wouldn't know. Maybe the paint life extended 1 hour by using such method, lol.
Let other sifu recommend you the elegance wash mitt because I'm using the cheapest hypermarket OTC type.

bros. is it ok to remove existing wax with sunlight dish washer? Gonna rewax the whole car.

Better use something like carpro eraser, optimum paint prep etc. If want cheaper can get IPA spray for car Lazada, I THINK it's already diluted with lesser IPA ratio which should be safer for paint.

Looking on your pic, just gone through drizzle? Misty rain is always very dirty, if not wipe off you will get the dust stain mark; Heavy downpour on another hand is cleaner. 2 days back I wipe my car parked at home right after drizzle, it was washed the day before, the bucket water comes out is black.

Quick update.

Noticed my bonnet had severe swirls on Saturday under bright sun and I guess it was inflicted during one of my DIY sessions last week. Was using Meg's Dark Wax and applicator at night at the time so couldn't see the swirls.

So painful and cannot tahan so I bought the 3in1 [Parkson having 30% discount] so it costs around RM90. More importantly, cos it says it helps reduces swirls.

Applied 2 times on Sat night and the bonnet looks much better now. I will share end results another time. Was tempted to bring out my DA just to fix those swirls.

Anyone have Soft99 Meta Clean Review? Thanks
*
Good for cleaning stubborn stain, the cleaning ability exceeded my another Turtle Wax Polishing Compound. But as it is a cleaner wax, the wax is not durable. So it depends you seeking for cleaning or waxing, if cleaning purpose highly recommended. For waxing better get those dedicated wax or sealant, or hybrid ceramic wax.

Sifu, can recommend me good polish/compound for removing old ceramic coating? Used Soft99 meta clean able to removed majority, but some leftover high spot are stubborn and cannot lift up by Meta Clean.
