No maintenance done since to revive it? I guessed that's the thing to expect fro cheap ceramic coat? Have DIY on older car couple of months ago and using whatever left over LSP as mthly maintenance

Nope, in other hand I wanted to know its longevity, monthly wash using Carpro Iron-X Snow Wash as decon wash, the coating able to survive that wash (still beading during wash) which would strip-off traditional waxes.

Noted. Just checked the coat you applied is over $100 in LzD hence it ain't cheap range like I had (<$50).

I deal with the manufacturer on Aliexpress, halves the price (with postage) because I bought 2 bottle. If bought more bottle the cost per bottle would be cheaper (same postage parcel box).

That's a good bargain. In any event, my personal view after applying this cheap $50 coat almost 2 mths ago in comparison to another car which is just applying TW SnS, the coated car is..
1. Still feels smoother when washing or drying (8 washes and countless rinse)
2. Water beading and sheeting still way better

Which coating brand was it? Can show photo? Thanks.

2 months already 8 washes... You washing car weekly kah? Lol

Damn frustrated no roof-shaded area for me to properly work on, these few days evening either heavy shower rain or misty rain...
Finished hand application compound the car after 2 days, just now plan to give a wash and do ceramic coating, but start misty rain again...
woodentiger86 I remember you have Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Wax right? Can this be use as the after wash drying aid method? Does it need few hours to cure? I anticipate the weather will consistently having evening rain for next few days, so not possible to do ceramic coating as that requires at least 1 day to fully cure.
Also now I see there's Hybrid Ceramic "Liquid" Wax, which is better for longevity?

Just now after evening rain managed to decon wash my car and proceed with ceramic coating. To recap I did Meguiar Ultimate Compound using hand applicator for past 2 days, managed to lift up most water mark and residue, tiring but I'm satisfied.

So when sunset, I brought out white LED battery-powered light to proceed the coating job, to my horror, under the white LED light I'm able to see the round circular light haze of my Ultimate Compound work! During daytime I didn't see it, but it was now visible circular pattern under LED light, omg. So I ignore it and proceed with coating job, luckily applying to coating able to masquerade those circular haze and making the paint looks glossy (black car).

Any idea what is the circular haze? It doesn't seems to be scratches, but sort of like compound residue?

Ya, years back I did sanding and respray my headlamp, been gone through those steps especially sanding 1000 > 1500 > 2000 grits. Took me a few days just for headlamp job.

Previously all the while I'm using Soft99 Metaclean one step polish only, didn't has this kind of haze issue, so could be Ultimate Compound rougher grit. This time uses Ultimate Compound because I realize my 1 year old coating looks very bad with scratches and water marks, reckon will be harder for Metaclean to lift those up. Ya Meg UC did well job eliminate most of that.

Meanwhile the paint respray shop did terrible job, over sprayed the paint (clear coat because non visible) to my other non-repair car door and one of the headlamp, making the surface so rough I can't lift up using hand applicator.

So it rain less than 24 hours after coating.

I prefer water sheeting instead of beading, which leaves the water droplets for sun burning water mark. Is there any ceramic coating focus on water sheeting?

Ok about 1 hour after rain stop, sloped surface already dried, no water droplets so I guess the surface is quite slick huh?
Still there are water droplets accumulating on middle of the roof, bonnet, and boot with less inclination level.

hate it when the lowyat forum like button doesn't work!
nice results bro thumbup.gif

to answer your question, look towards products from Sonax, they don't care about beading at all.

Just did pressure wash snow foam and i realized the coating soft99 mirror coat zero got removed.. anyone experienced it?
*
Possible, what detergent you used? If CarPro Iron-X Snow Wash then yes it will strip off wax if not permanent coating type. I used this before apply coating to wash off any wax or polishing oil, and as coating decontamination wash once per month.

Agree on soft99. I mainly use soft99 but later try other brands

Soft99 MetaClean best yo, cleaner wax like polish effect, even cleans better than Turtle's polishing compound which I regret bought it...

i saw a few from different company  tongue.gif
some even less than RM300

i wonder what is the average price or rather reasonable price I should be paying for a decent ceramic coating?
*
If they use China made coating, probably can do at less than RM500. Imagine a bottle of China coating around RM60 or much cheaper since shop will bought in bulk volume.

Regarding warranty, there's a catch... These kind of cheap coating, they said the warranty is that the applied coating won't crack or break (like glass breaking), so actually this kind of warranty useless.

About maintenance, when first time apply coating time Boss promises 5 time maintenance, but when you send in, Boss often not around and the staff just do basic car wash only, and tell you see the water droplet still nice after car wash, so that's it, effectively it's just free 5 times car wash...
