QUOTE(jyane @ Sep 8 2017, 09:17 AM) Sorry, should have been specific. DA (Dual Action) Polisher. They come at 8mm/15mm/21mm throws. Rotary Polishers are stagnant and doesn't oscillate? You can refer to this http://osren.com/product/tools-and-accessories/all?p=1 |

QUOTE(jyane @ Sep 8 2017, 02:22 PM) Thanks for the link. by the way, i have another question in mind. is it necessary to clay before wax? or it fine with wash dry then wax? Yeah, it varies based on previous forumers feedback. But if you have not done it before, best to clay before you polish/wax. I dont park my car in open areas much thus I may not clay is as often. If you park your car next to trees or bushes or you have construction going up your area often. You be the judge. No specific regime |

Guys, how do you deal with stone chips?
Do you buy EzyTouchUp paint and fill the chips? Any tips on this? Oh yah, where was that link for the Fine Paint Pen (from AmmoNYC)? This post has been edited by linkin182: Sep 29 2017, 01:05 PM |

QUOTE(blurcase @ Oct 1 2017, 03:35 PM) Mmm, Ezy Touchup is how I do it, but I use a very fine brush I get from regular art shops. I thought about the Paint Pen that Larry AmmoNYC recommended, but felt it didnt make sense if I needed to paint underside places or even side door areas. Yeah, I saw a few videos where toothpicks or fine tipped painting pens were a good choice. However that is to be put behind until the unimaginable happened:- My heart sank crying slowly in bed. Gotta fork out to get it repainted. |

QUOTE(blurcase @ Oct 1 2017, 07:17 PM) Erm, the damage doesnt look very bad, can be touchup painted also if want. Think some of the finer lines on the smooth part can be compounded off. The under carriage paint has been sheared through exposing the bare metal.Unfortunately I tried to polish and compound the top paint but alas, it went through to. I thought I'd spend some effort to touch up stone chips but I guess I'll just send the car in for the rest. Await future stone chips for that project |

QUOTE(LemonKnight @ Oct 26 2017, 07:38 PM) Thanks for sharing your experience, I will try to be a little more conservative with my current wax next time. Its ok, it comes with experience. I applied way too much wax on my first try as well.It still makes me curious, I swipe the tin for each panel, but it looks like I am using a lot of wax. Pat your sponge applicator on your car panel if you think its not enough. If you still see traces of Wax on the new panel, then it is still enough. If there isn't much traces of Wax, thats when you top up on wax on the sponge. 1 tin can last you a life time now once you get the hang of it. Use a DA, it can cut down your waxing time by 10x if by hand I am still using my first Meguiars Black/White Wax (AIO) and it is only 1/4 of the way! Done countless of polish/waxing with it. |

QUOTE(douglas_tong @ Oct 27 2017, 05:21 PM) i recommend 15mm orbit as a first da. Gives more correction power + shorter working time because of larger coverage. Haha, I don't even have 8mm or 15mm. Just Megs Power DA hahaha...subsequently, you can get the 8mm. Thereafter, you can join 90% of us in dreaming of having ibrid nano. Heck i dont even have a 8mm Dreaming for the 15mm Clover kit. QUOTE(silverwave @ Nov 12 2017, 12:30 PM) Hi all, i need some advise about watermark removal. I've opened a Thread but i'm also looking for professional detailers who can fix this problem. Anyone could recommend any? In the other thread, you said you tried polishing. Was it by hand? This is a tough watermark stain which needs either a Rotary or a DA to properly remove it. That looks like it needs compounding too so if you're tackling this by hand, you're out of luck. Send it to any professional detailer, they would provide a better assessment on site. |

QUOTE(silverwave @ Nov 13 2017, 12:03 PM) I tried a few times by hand and it didn't work. When i took it to Shell, they used the machine to polish but the watermark just reduced barely 10%. If you're around Klang Valley, Sierra Glow is often the go to I'm not too sure if the watermark is caused by me parking in an industrial zone or because my car is parked under some trees in front of a garden at night. After rain, there is usually a stain on the car. Would you know of any recommended detailers? Most of the ones i tried googling does not seem to have a good review. You need compounding with heavier cutting capability. Polish can't cut it at times. |
