There is no 1 place to go to learn everything about WoW.

Where i learned most of my skills is from the WoW forums, there are forums there for everything even professions.

The community there is generally very helpful, so if you ask a question they will most like give you an answer you require (even noob questions).

If you are really interested to roll a lock, then the Warlock WoW forums is definitely the place to start. There are guides there for everything related to the lock -- from levelling guides, where to put in your talent points, guides explaining the strengths and weaknesses of each talent build, pvp strategies, pve strategies, etc, etc.

I thought you already started playing? Since you're already replying some of the other threads on WoW. If you haven't started playing, it becomes a lot clearer on why are you asking these questions. Some of answers are easily answered or found in the WoW FAQs but you'll need to have played the game a bit.

WoW isn't just an MMORPG. It's a complicated MMORPG. It takes time to learn it and understand it. Hell, a lot of seasoned players are also still learning. You can't compare WoW to free MMORPGs because they aren't as complicated or straightforward. There is grinding yes but there's also intense planning involved when it comes to crafting, questing, instancing and raiding. You could compared it to other subscription based MMOs like Everquest, Vanquard that has complicated crafting systems.

By complicated, I mean that you have to sit down and STUDY and READ UP. It's common to spend a few days planning on what to do next if it gets complicated. Sure, I can understand you're impatient but if you're hoping for a forum posting answer that holds you by the hand, it's not going to happen. There's too many things to do in-game.

Like you, WoW isn't my first MMORPG but it definetely is one of the most time-consuming ones where the game rules changes with every major patch that comes out. Playing other MMORPGs will never prepare you WELL for another MMORPG anyways and I speak from experience.

In a nutshell, when it comes to WoW, you're looking at :

Leveling your character to 70 :
Use http://www.wow-pro.com . There are good leveling guides up till 70 for both Alliance and Horde. To level to 70, you'll have to read other sources or just do all the quests in Outlands. The guide is fast enough for solo leveling.

Building your Talent Build
Goto the WoW Class Forums e.g. Warlocks on Warlock Forums. Or goto the WoW site and click on the class links.

Instancing in 5-man Dungeons
Again, http://www.wow-pro.com for most of the Lvl60 and below dungeons. For Lvl 70 onwards, goto http://www.wowwiki.com or http://www.ampwow.com .

Professions
Goto the Profession Links on the WoW Website.

Raiding
Think about it after you've hit level 70. Why bother to research it now if you're not there yet? Don't try to rush it to 70 either else you'll get burned out very badly that you eventually quit the game.

PvP
There's strategies in the Class Forums about it. Go read.

I would also suggest that when you post your questions, be more clear on what part of it you do not understand rather than giving generic questions over and over again. Because your questions seem repetitive when the answer would have been found in the links provided or the replies from people. The WoW website and forums have tons of information there as well as other websites with all the information that you're looking for.

Do not expect this game to be like a simple free-to-play grinding MMORPG. It's more diversified than that.

As for having a bad character, it's not too bad. You'll find that you'll eventually have to change your talent build anyways just to try different talent spells for various situations. If you're short of gold, go and grind on humanoids since they drop a lot of gold and cloth (which you can AH it).

Bonto > just play the game! if u messed up your build.. U CAN ALWAYS RESPEC UR CHAR for some gold.. so its no biggy.. Just play the game already!

Some basics, at the default weapon skill for your level, say 300 at level 60, your white hits against mobs that are 3 levels above you have a chance to be a glancing blow - which means they only do 50% (can't remember the exact numbers) damage.

Before the nerf, weapon skill would reduce the glancing penalty. So weapon skill of 309 would reduce the glancing penalty to 2% (again i'm probably making up the numbers - since these numbers are now irrelevant).

Weapon skill now gives a slight bonus to crit chance against mobs higher level than you. So yes it is a major nerf esp against rogues and warriors. All you need to know now is that weapon skill is not a very important stat.

Kidicarus, I'm so glad you answered because I totally have no idea on what it should be. When it comes to number crunching, urgh, don't look at me. Makes my head dizzy and painful.

deo, I just try to keep things as simple as possible. At the end of the day, I want to max out my damage output as much as possible. I focus more on that point rather than gear performance because it's easier to plan how to play better.

Stats
After level 50, I start focusing more on those green descriptions e.g. crit rating, attack power, heals, spell damage rather than STA, INT, AGI, etc. Those green description details usually gives more damage output than the white stats.

Equipment Level
I'm not sure how bad a nerf this is but I do keep one level40 item for druid tanking(Warden Staff). Haven't found a replacement yet but there should be a drop in one of the higher level instance. It doesn't seem to impact my performance much because of the talent points that's in my build as well as other performance stats from gear that I'm wearing.

Button Smashing Combination
Knowing what moves will give the most damage will be your staple. And you'll tend to be a better player when you're running with PUGs because u'll need to work harder at surprise mob aggro.

i know wow is complicated....i'm going to read some of those and around mid-march i'm going to create new account...free trial....

get level 20 as fast as i can.... activate starter pack and level till hell broke loose..... i hear level 1-20 only takes 1 day..... that is around 12 hours...is it true

well leveling...u just have to do quest and stuff right?

is there a quest list of something...or is it in wow-pro?

i've roll an orc/lock once, it's quite fun and it's stated that undead&orc is the best warlock , i roll both, i find orc more fun with all the peons lazily sleeping in the first town that i forgot the name

i just found out the quest list somewhere thottbot or something

wow-pro is confusing but there is a very good guide from level 21-60

level 1-20 i'll just play around with the game, i found out some of the talent guide in wow-pro and WoW Forums, it's kinda confusing but i will learn it sooner or later when i start the game

as i said, i don't want to start playing until mid-march

once i play by then i will really start to level everyday, (if i can), thx myremi, for the wonderful link but i think http://www.thottbot.com is the easiest to understand amongst all of it

From your trainer, u can unlearn ur talents and get all your talent points back and distribute them the way u want again. First time respec is 50s, 2nd more expensive and 3rd even more. It gets more expensive the more times u re-spec but maximum is 50 gold.

Again, why are you soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo afraid of trying out different builts?
