Asrock B150M-HDV
Cooler Master Hyper TX3 Evo
FSP Hexa+ 550W
Intel 535 Series 120GB SSD

Armaggeddon Teratron T7
Acer LCD 27" K272HLBD LED Monitor
Windows 10 Pro

Planning to get my first graphic card. Only play dota2 so far, low setting can get 60fps. What graphic can I get for max out (ultra setting) on dota 2. Not so sure about the budget.

If I want dual screen and gaming keyboard like razer blackwidow X ultimate, what should I cut?

R9 390 vs GTX970

It is 8GB VRAM on R9 390 and is having more raw performance but power consumption is higher than GTX970.

To include another another monitor and expensive peripherals, you can downgrade the CPU to i5, change to cheaper mobo, drop SSD etc.

Intel Core i5 6400 - RM 773
Gigabyte B150M-D3H (D4) - RM 403
Corsair 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 148
Zotac GTX970 4GB GDDR5 Reference - RM 1397
Kingston HyperX Fury 120GB SSD - RM 209
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 215
FSP Hexa+ 550W - RM 188
Tecware Alpha Black - RM 219
BenQ GL2460 x 2 - RM 1020
Razer BlackWidow X Ultimate - RM 429

Total: RM 5001 (ETech price inclusive of GST)

Due to budget issue, I have to switch to GTX970 so I can downgrade to lower grade PSU.

Thin bezel monitor is more suitable for dual/triple monitors setup, you can consider getting a Dell UltraSharp (super thin bezel IPS panel) monitor first and add another one later when you have more budget.

Ah.

Radeon R9 390 does not support VR?

I see only Nvidia being listed as Occulus compatible?

It is limited to selected Gigabyte model only AFAIK, the price of Gigabyte card is very expensive which makes the deal not worth even with free RM 100 Steam Wallet, I suggest you to wait for next gen GPU instead if you are going to spend 1.8k just for a GTX970.

Intel Core i5 6400 - RM 773
Kingston HyperX Fury 120GB SSD - RM 209
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 215
Gigabyte GTX970 4GB GDDR5 Xtreme Gaming - RM 1779

Total: RM 2976 (ETech price inclusive of GST)

Hi guys. I would like to build my first ever budget gaming rig that can handle mid - high end graphic demanding games. If it's possible I would like to have a 120hertz monitor, but I don't think it will fit into the price range. If so, then recommend me something that is 1080p or 1440p that are bang for my bucks. I only demand for smooth 60fps on any games that i will list below. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

[Budget] RM2.8k - RM3.5k ( less is better )

[Purpose] Moderate gaming, extensive use of youtube and movies

[Hardwares that will be re-use] Keyboard, mouse

[Monitor Resolution] 1080p/1440p ( depend on my budget )

[Games and softwares that use frequently] Rocket League, H1Z1 ( high or ultra settings at 60fps if possible ), Tomb Raider, Hitman:Absolution, War Thunder, GTA V, Words/Powerpoint

[Personal Preferences] 120hertz monitor if possible, 1080p resolution is minimum, R9 390 or Gtx 970? And which is better? i5 is a must over i3.

[Location] KL

That's all for my requirements. I hope money won't limit your suggestion for better performance as I'm a newbie to all this IT stuff. Thanks

You might be a little bit too ambitious on your available budget sweat.gif

Intel Core i5 6400 - RM 773
Gigabyte H110M-DS2 (D4) - RM 289
Corsair 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 148
Zotac GTX970 4GB GDDR5 Reference - RM 1397
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 215
FSP Hexa+ 550W - RM 188
Bifenix Nova - RM 149
BenQ GW2270 - RM 429

Total: RM 3588 (ETech price inclusive of GST)

R9 390 is slightly better but your budget cannot fit it, even if you top up a little bit for it, you still need to change to a more decent PSU due to its higher power consumption status, which requires even more top up.

1080p 120/144Hz monitor is > 1.1k, prepare more money if you want to jump ship to it, same goes to 1440p which is even more expensive than 1080p 120/144Hz.
