If you go with non Z170 mobo, you cannot overclock the RAM and it will downclock itself to 2133MHz even though you have a 2666MHz RAM.[Purpose] Rendering video

But jumping from 2133MHz to 2666MHz doesn't bring significant improvements (mostly benchmark only), > 3000MHz is more preferred if you really keen on high speed RAM.
