The Japan post to Malaysia has been steadily getting faster.

One of my figures arrived last month after 4 weeks, the next took 3 weeks. The latest one was posted on 30th August and reached KLIA on 3rd September. Not bad at all.

I planned on holding off from buying from Japan for the rest of the year.

I think you got confused between SAL and Air Air Small Packet has always been available. It is SAL Small Packet that hasn't been in service since the start of lockdown - and the one I am missing the most because it's cheaper compared to Air.

I am also holding off on potential purchases from Japan but the ones I really want, I use Air to get them because they are essentially the cheapest shipping at the moment.

The difference is quite negligible la for such an expensive hobby.

erm guys i want ask somethin...last time i buy Nekopara - Coconut - Character's Selection - 1/4 (BINDing, Native) from hongkong to sabah and b4 i get my item kastam ask me to pay rm100 agent fee for write form coz my item price over rm1k upper he said is law from malaysia..got this law? anyway i already pay 5 time rm100 agent fee at AUG'2020 (pay for item price over1k and 1 shipping box got 2 figure inside for write mysafe form)

Over RM 500 will get charged 10% (if kena la).

yes i know if over price will ask for pay tax but they also ask me pay that rm100 agent fee if not i cant take my item...

Why not just buy from local hobby shop and let them handle the order and shipping (so that your item always arrive to your door step safely)? I always buy my figure from Toypanic.

Just wanted to know, is it always cheaper to buy from oversea (amiami, playasia, etc etc)? despite the tax, agent fee, apply half day leave to go to kastam.

No offense just wondering. Since you said you pay RM500 just for agent fee in Aug 2020.

Only method to ship now is Surface. My friend asked the local post office for an estimate and was told if he ships out now will arrive in Malaysia next February lol
