For me, I have not got any new ones for now. Just shifted my old yaesu to my new truck and the antenna is still killing me. Cannot enter underground parking for now hehehe

Base unit got a couple of new antenna for HF and currently working towards plunking my stack yagi for VHF up once I get the stacking cables from spore.

hmm new equipment not really but i fixed my potato of my vx6r after a yr of abuse,
(there was this once went dragon boat duty, had my handy clipped on my pants thn potato clipped onto my belt walk walk walk prooooop, the handy dropped off my pants only abt 10cm away from the water but luckily the potato was there clipped on tightly to my pants)

the ptt button on it goes kaput, so bought a switch for 50sens tried to solder the new 1 off, but after 30mins tat damn thing wun come off, decided to just put a piece of paper between the switch and the rubber contact and wala! working!

hehehe..just want to ask..anyone here can explain to me how to use antenna tuner?

Yaesu handies are one tough radio. must be high mileage unit you have there for the PTT button to fail hehe. You can get a reasonably good ptt switch from motorola shop for about RM12.

Easy to use the antenna tuner ... just stick it between ur rig and the antenna. Adjust the 2 knobs until u achieved lowest SWR (get it to be better than 1.5)

For HF, make sure that ur antenna is of respectable length applying the law, v=f*lambda where lambda is the length of ur antena for half wave dipole *2

haha..time kaseh kerna sudi mengajar..i just got my tuner and looks like very complicated with the meter and knobs here and there..this tuner is for HF. For 2m just guna swr meter je.

Wondering why don't Raje bought his from Singapore instead.. bought mine, 949E for S$300 .. er.. but hardly using it now since my other rig has built in auto-tuner.
