hello, wut is da price for vx3r and ft60r ic-91a. help me plz... in dilemma now...

Pricewise, I'll go for FT60R, it has everything you want a HT to be. I'll surely not recommend the VX3R since the max you could transmit is 1.5W on VHF and 1W on UHF. I've no idea about ICOM IC-91A .. Anyway, I just got my daughter a Kenwood TH-F7E, a nice HT which comes with a scanner and could receive SSB too. She got her license last Friday.. among few 14yrs old who passed their RAE late last year.

On how much they'll cost you .. head up to one of the online websites that were listed in pages before.. easiest .. http://kedaiscs.com ..

I have been a SWL for a long long time and been monitoring the VHF band for about 10 years now. I think I wanna go into the next step ie to become a HAM but...my biggest problem is that I'm extremely shy to go on air. blush.gif

No...I'm not a HAM yet so I don't have a callsign. I think I have to take the RAE test first before becoming a HAM.

By taking the examination and passing does not mean that you're REQUIRED to go on air. I was told that there are quite a number of radio amateurs who're not interested to go on air but to monitor the frequency. It is a way to legalise you for owning an equipment which could monitor the frequencies.

During one of the roadshow that I was involved in last year, I met this guy who've been interested on amateur radio for more than 20 years but he did not know where/what/when he could obtain the license.

So Empathy, come along .. join this hobby and you'll not alone.. it is such a small community here (in Malaysia) and everyone seems to be very helpful..

Alamak wiraone, I got that TH-F7E too but I can't hear anything on SSB. You plug in a super long dipole?
