lol... but nowadays, wanna find open padang is so susah...unlike those good old days.

advocado I do understand your points and whre you are coming...but in general...I dont think many here would understand the need and healthiness to have those made available to general public as in overseas.

Majority of those who have lived overseas and returns to Msia would understand the pain of not having it here.

The thing is some of these activity exist but in isolation, as you mentioned, and there is no convenience in accessing it, parking, travel, traffic, rates, etc

Actually...I like munkeyflo said, like chill out in padang...I like that but it has to be conducive to our environment. When I was in Taiwan, the parks was accessible easily, tracking up the hill was so convenient, and some places, they have stars up the hill as well, for those who cant or dislike trekking.

Park is filled with trees and umbrellas for shades...ada ice-cream, and all kinds refreshment around the clock. Its a cool place for lepaking....public transport....if parking is an issue in Msia...they could provide free bicycle or cheap rental of those like taiwan.

There are so many things that can be done to encourage citizens to spend time healthier outdoors, and mingle with one another that in turns creates unity and get to know....
...stopping my rant

got la... but yeah, technically you are right since it only being advertise to sports enthusiast people...

they should do more advertising to attract non-sports enthusiast... especially for casual sports people...

no need la, casual people won't be interested. anyway like someone mentioned before, these niche hobbies have survived & will continue to survive on their own no need attract bandwagon hoppers to spoil the hobbies.

yea you need to join the clubs since it's not open to public, and because there's so few tracks & so few events when it's open to public the track ends up like KL traffic.

in other countries you don't need a raceclub, since the tracks will have noticeboards and you just need to drive 50km to the tracks.

if you have the heart, nothing can stop you, but i'm talking about availability to general public. inside players will know all the stuffs & schedules but you can only attract so many people by having a closed loop & requiring exclusivity.

lots of people buy Hypertune magazines, but how many actually tracks?

there are many hardcore fishing folks that would go into the swamp to catch big fish, but this is something normal people won't do.

if i'm hardcore enough if Malaysia doesn't have a skiing facility i'd build one, nothing stopping me right? but we talk about something that could have been easily accessible, like a proper beach?

u can come n join bro...what i mean is...if tell us no weekend activity...that mean the info on track day are not reaching you so by joining the club...u will get better information...

in my country... we dun have a race track...nearest is pasir gudang and how lucky they are...

proper beach? kindly provide me 1 propeer beach please

Mountain/rock climbing
Mountain jogging
Visit mini zoo
Visit mini farm

where are these mini zoos & mini zoos? closes is Zoo Negara, then others i remember seeing them, quite far far away. those pony riding i believe not cheap? since those Shopping mall motor vehicles already cost rm10 for 5 minutes.

we have beaches at terengganu, langkawi, pangkor etc.
we have so many golf clubs everywhere.
so many places to jungle trekking in town areas like kl and selangor
u can always go jogging at parks if u're a poorfag

no need go Taiwan so far, Singapore City center is inside the park. lunch time just walk out can eat Sammich like Ang Moh liao. Here some places can also sit outside eat but the lack of shades means you're crazy to do that. In Singapore lots of shades outdoors. Park within Parks, Cities inside the park.

KLCC got a big park, but the path towards it also quite far from KLCC, and lack of shades. Inside the park might have shades. but only KLCC of all Malaysia.

so ur in Pasir Gudang? Last time i hear weekends open for public entry is rm50 sign the death warrant and off you go any car can enter.

now you see like i say in Malaysia everything need "Inside information" if you interested in something, most of the time you have to pay for it, like you want to tune up you cars, you have to go to Sunway tuners and pay overcharge fees to tune them. In Japan you can simply walk in any tuners and they will do a decent job at decent price, not like I've been to Japan, but i'm guessing that's how it is because most hobbies have extended to the general public that it has become common.

here the folks leading the hobby don't bother to spread the hobby to make it a bigger scene.

but i know there's a few mini circuit people drift around, i think there's one near Serdang? another around kedah or something?

you know Race Circuits hardly make money in Malaysia because we only have few big events and normally the circuit is closed, so how they make money? Even Parking lots make more money.

haha i do agree with your general sentiment. veejay also hit the nail on the head.

unfortunately it appears that most people have their free time filled with exciting healthy things to do. ultimately i think it boils down to cost/time effectiveness.

to those bashing those less fortunate who cannot "AFFORD" to enjoy life, fuck off. some things aren't a privilege, for example - nature.

not many people got the time to drive half the peninsular over the weekend to get on the beach.

i want go to beach i want either easy access like Gold Coast, or somewhere people spend the weekends over if it's really far, not overcrowded, not too little people.

Whole stretch of Malaysia is seaside, why can't we have proper beach along the way? Why even Johor Bahru have to go all the way to Desaru when Singapore can do it in Sentosa?

Joggins is under general sports.

This is 1st time i hear about Cycling in Shah Alam, but i guess exclusive only to Shah Alam, is it near that place with Ice/Snow funfare?

AGAIN I NEVER SAY GOLF CLUB IS A RARE ACTIVITY IN MALAYSIA. Read my 1st post 1st paragraph.

I'm pretty sure having the facilities helps, but if there's no facilities, you can always bring it on the available environment, like public roads.

In the end like i say, if you really want to do it, you can, but how many of you are hardcore enough to race on public roads, or sandbath along random seasides?

Even cycling you don't need to go to Shah Alam, just buy a bike or steal one and ride on the roads or on the padang. if you happen to bang some car just keep riding.

it's a long walk from KLCC, further than going to foodcourt or the building nextdoor. since it's near the exhibition centers.

anyway was referring to chilling out in city parks.

those you mention, are popular places for jogging, but not for a lunch during lunch hours. jogging is under general sports like futsal/badminton/tennis/golf/basketball, something you can do during the weekdays evenings?

i know Malaysians prefer indoor activites, that is why shopping & badminton is so popular here. Almost every big taman i can see a 24hrs Badminton center.
