We can fly kite and play gasing. Now that's traditional.

lol... but nowadays, wanna find open padang is so susah...unlike those good old days.

advocado I do understand your points and whre you are coming...but in general...I dont think many here would understand the need and healthiness to have those made available to general public as in overseas.

Majority of those who have lived overseas and returns to Msia would understand the pain of not having it here.

The thing is some of these activity exist but in isolation, as you mentioned, and there is no convenience in accessing it, parking, travel, traffic, rates, etc

Actually...I like munkeyflo said, like chill out in padang...I like that but it has to be conducive to our environment. When I was in Taiwan, the parks was accessible easily, tracking up the hill was so convenient, and some places, they have stars up the hill as well, for those who cant or dislike trekking.

Park is filled with trees and umbrellas for shades...ada ice-cream, and all kinds refreshment around the clock. Its a cool place for lepaking....public transport....if parking is an issue in Msia...they could provide free bicycle or cheap rental of those like taiwan.

There are so many things that can be done to encourage citizens to spend time healthier outdoors, and mingle with one another that in turns creates unity and get to know....
...stopping my rant

most of wht TS say is quite true.

the root cause is simply poor Town Planning

our government be it federal or state, through their incompetent planning causes our leisure & entertainment facilities be neglected in lieu of capitalism

this capitalism oriented policy-makers favour industrial, housing & retail for development thus causes our people to not have alternative avenues & activities to enjoy. too bad that even our free nature activities are often rifed with license holders jacking up prices. then our government turn a blind eye to forest clear

nobody addresses the issue among our policy-makers, nobody takes proactive action. nobody thinks long-term beyond 10 to 20 years.
we can only be proud of Putrajaya when all the other parts of the country becomes a concrete shithole.

nothing is optimum in our development, so those who can affect change, pls do so for our future well being & generations to come.

you nailed it! many in Msia dont have the exposure of these amenities and its availability in general for public that could be provided to general public as part of town planning. Even our parks here are getting smaller and smaller with no fields like we use to have 20 years ago
