Ok my PC-A71F casing has 2 filters for the front 2 x 140mm fans. The exhaust fan has no filter.
I am also planning to install a radiator in my case attached under the top panel which will have a cut opening so i can install 3 x 120mm fans as well as fan filters and a grill.
My question is, do i need fan filters for radiator fans? Or will it greatly impact airflow and thus my cooling performance?
And should i install a filter for the exhaust fan or is there no need?
I want to minimize as much dust buildup inside my rig.

Well i put first. Since i rather not have dust and i doubt performance drop by a lot Susai what sort of fan configuration should the radiator fans be put as? Push and pull?? (Push)(Pull)(Push) ?? This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: Dec 9 2009, 12:04 PM

Scythe Kaze Master ACE http://www.pcshoptalk.com/forum/showthread...?t=8592&garpg=5 I need advise whether it is possible to set 3 Gentle Typhoon fans per channel for this fan controller? QUOTE The stats state a maximum 1 Amp per channel and despite the box the RPM range is from 0 to 7500 rpm (not 9,990 rpm). The "GentleTyphoon" 120 mm fans range from .015 to .083 Amps, so I can't see a problem. Someone else though says that the Gentle typhoon 1850rpm variant draws about 1w each... I only found this so far. So would 3 Gentle Typhoon be able to be put onto 1 channel, so at the turn of 1 knob, it will change all 3 fans to the same RPM? The other 3 channels will then be used for individual fans. 2 x 140mm fans at the front, and 1 x 120mm exhaust fan at the back. This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: Dec 9 2009, 12:46 PM

depends on the radiator fan orientation....
if its set to blow the air out of the case...then no need....if into the case...then u should

its alread stated....1Amp per channel max so 3 fans combined must not exceed 1Amp Amp...not watt Added on December 9, 2009, 2:30 pmQUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin @ Dec 9 2009, 12:10 PM) So would 3 Gentle Typhoon be able to be put onto 1 channel, so at the turn of 1 knob, it will change all 3 fans to the same RPM?. depends....if all 3 fans at max are turning at the same RPM then when knob turned down itll be same RPM... fan controllers dont control the RPM... they control the voltage going into the fan.... So basically for one of the knobs, i need only use 1 sensor then. Thx. Madman how does the Kaze compare to the Lamptron FC-5 Fan?? MSRP is $54.99. http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=233607This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: Dec 9 2009, 04:13 PM

have filters in the intake fan for your pc, then use the radiator for output. And don't put more airflow fan then your intake fan.

Ok so my case the 2 x 140mm intake already have filters.
The output fan 1 x 120mm at the back doesn't have filter (guess no need for this).
Whats a good fan orientation? I am putting my radiator inside my casing, at the top under the top panel covering. Should i set all 3 fans as push to blow onto radiator so i can use the 3 fan filters? Is this an acceptable setup?
I'm not overclocking my pc and my build is as follows:
reservoir >> MCP655 Pump >> TFC Xchanger 360 Radiator >> Swiftech Apogee XT Cpu Waterblock >> Reservoir ...

Maybe if a pro wouldn't mind helping me setup my water cooling rig with the parts i bought, i wouldn't mind if they at the same time tested the fan controller :]
Any takers?

Ok i'll do that Madman :} Even if pc not running, dust can still creep inside from the fan holes. Is it still worth putting the fan filters on? My room very dusty >-<; This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: Dec 9 2009, 05:02 PM
