As I said in my earlier post this morning, HL difficult to get higher than promo rate. In Jan, I got the HL/MACH 6 mth 4.5%. These days are gone now.

Also have AmBank 2/3 years 4.6/4.5%. BR 2 years 4.55%
Look into your crystal ball for next year !

Disappointed today after checking the MBB Gia-i 7th month interest. Instead of getting 4.5%, only 4% !! Same as the 1st 6 months !

Hi guys, need some suggestion, I have a maybank FD soon expiring in July, small fund only 10k, is there any bank offering more than 4% in FD?

I checked my FD Excel file. Below all 1 year rate. Up till 1/10/2015, AmBank offer 4.2%. Then Nov 1 2015 CIMB 4.3%/4.35% (ask for higher rate), then OCBC 5/11 4.5%. So the battle for 4.5% for major banks started Nov 2015 (though SCB started it in Q1 2015 but no other banks follow suit).

So the current 4.3% by few banks (discounting Bangkok Bank) is still not bad. 

then actually no difference from Maybank GIA.

If u have about 250k, get the instant interest then put in for another 12 mth promo. 
If lesser FD amt, put in to earn interest for normal FD or whatever. 

keep refreshing the mbb promo page.

mbb uses multiple web servers, some not yet updated (changes not yet propagated fully to other servers).

everytime u refreshes, sometimes it reload from slightly older server content.
hint: everytime u refresh the page, notice the timestamp below the Maybank logo

I have a question for those who make FD placement with personal cheque. When would your current account be debited? On the day you make the placement itself or only after the cheque is cleared (no longer floating)? I wonder what happens to the money when it is floating (usually 2 working days). Is it with the payer account, the payee account, the payee bank or with Bank Negara Malaysia? Thanks.
