Not sure if you guys know but there's this really good website that has captured all the promo codes:

https://www.myuber.info/promo-codes

So far got 13 Promo Codes.. Wonder if some people receive double promo codes?

Not sure.. Doubt it cos Grab only allows its drivers to refer new drivers so bcos of that there's no incentive for someone to create a website like myuber.info

This is one of the stupidest problems with Uber app.. Once you key in a code, you cannot change to other codes or even disable it (e,g, let's say your promo code is RM 10 off, but you know you want to take short trip worth only RM 4, you have no choice but to use the RM 10 off.. so you waste RM 6)

A lot of complaints on their FB page on this. They know this but they dont want to do anything about it

One of the reasons why I hate using uber. But recently I moved back to uber because grab seems to be more expensive now

nvm expensive, it's also pretty slow despite the many chance I gave them. Only when it's near impossible to find Uber would I hazard a try to use Grab.

Problematic = No

Frequent user = No

I understand why i did not receive this promo code not because of attitude issue, and this is for selected customer which i understand Grab trying to reward loyal and frequent customer.

Am i jealous? No

Am i happy? Yes, because driver get to earn more
*
The thing is.. I am a more frequent user of Grab than my friends yet they received the code and I didn't. That's what makes me unhappy with Grab.

Last time they offer the "RM0 for rides RM7 and below" promo and they extended it, only to selected users. Those "selected users" are those who have not activated Grabpay, so they're using that as a method to attract them to use Grabpay.

I have been one of the earliest and faithful adopters of Grabpay yet I did not receive any added gifts from Grab.

Back to this Merdeka promo, I've been using Grab much more than my friends (I am almost a Platinum member, but just couldn't reach it by just a few hundred points before the period was refreshed)

My friends who are hardly Silver members received the promo while I didn't. Maybe because I always gave feedback and complaints to Grab?

To add salt to the wound, Grab increased their price quite dramatically recently.

Previously a ride from my hostel to college was RM5, then increased to RM6 with the new fare structure, then now it's RM7
Uber is offering it at RM4+.

They removed most of Grabshare which has in the past eased my student financial woes whenever I need to travel alone, like going to the airport via Putrajaya.
(RM28 with Grabshare, RM37 with Grab, but now RM45 after price hike)

For the promo code of selected customer, i have no comment on that.

Grab has been subsidized driver a lot in the past and trying to find way to find profit from it, not surprise for me for the price hike and expected they will try to profit out from it. They are not Non-Profit organization, they are corporate where profit matters and has few hundred staff to feed. Base fare has increase from RM1 to RM2, peak hour per km is RM1.4 while non-peak is RM1.1, customer keep in the dark because Grab secretly adjust the fare.

Uber is cheap, this one i agree on non-peak hour, but with that cheap fare how many driver on the road? it is very hard unless u stay in city or CBD. During my time as students 10 years ago, there is only Taxi or bus, if budget constraint, i would willing to wait for bus. Taxi fare during that time is higher than Grab rate now. I consider students now really fortunate with Grab/Uber existence and so much of promo code to ease your travel budget.

Grabshare has limited to area selected only, 1am-6am no Grabshare available. https://www.grab.com/my/blog/introducing-grabshare-zone/

Previously for Uber if u have entered promo codes in the payment list, once u booked a ride "CASH" will be changed to "Promo Registered". But now it stays as "CASH" eventhough those merdeka codes comply, so what is wrong n would I be charged? Afraid to use Uber ever since this happened.
