QUOTE(IcEMoCHa @ Jun 11 2008, 01:28 PM) thermal pad or thermal paste?... its okay if u dont reapply thermal paste after removing hsf but the cooling performance will decrease... I think its paste..well..it is pre-applied thermal paste which actually looks like a pad..so I'm not sure lolz! So, it won't damage my CPU? There's a statement on my Motherboard Instrucktion Book, they said " Inadequately removing the HSF from the CPU may damage the CPU" I'm really scared if my Q6600 fly away ToT

QUOTE(abenik @ May 31 2008, 02:11 PM) it hardens in the tube itself.. it is not totally harden actually.. like unpronounciable said, it become plasticine-like.. hard for me to apply on my proc.. oh.. then mine aso looks plasticine-like.. but its quite hard to stick it to the cpu.. is it normal or wat?? will it affect the performance of the paste???

Just make sure you put your hand and fingers on some metal or steel to discharge any static before you start cleaning. You can clean it off with a cloth. guys, i have few questions. hopefully u can help me with it. i bought the accelero S1 Rev 2, gonna fit it in the ATI4850. anyways.
1-many pple said the thermal pad in ram sinks are bad, where can i get new thermal pad/tape?
2-removing stock thermal grease, clean tissue is enough? or i need to use alchole? which one? from where to buy?
3-the ram heatsinks of zalman, do they have good stock thermal pad?

Sorry for bringing up an old thread. My MX-2 and Arctic Cleaners are about to finish after a recent cleaning up of hardwares. Just wondering, except in Garage Sales, anywhere i could get the Arctic Cleaners and good TIMs like AS5, MX-2 etc?
