if it is really that sticky, what to be done might actually risk bending the pins

I know, but surprisingly, the pins didn't bent. I didn't expect the proc to come out. I was just trying to remove the HSF lol. Like I said, it still works, and I've done it a few times. Pretty scary though. Next time I'll take the adice given and warm up the proc a bit before trying to remove the HSF.

The processor socket has bulges on its sides that prevents the processor from turning.

For motherboard like Asus P5B Deluxe, the mosfet is cooled by a heatsink fin connected to the northbridge. the thermal pad that comes with the board is really dirty and kindda used, so i wonder where can i get a replacement for the thermal pad.

Added on April 6, 2008, 5:50 pmbecause i dont dare to put thermal paste/grease on it, even if it is non conductive, but it's going to be a nightmare to clean should i need to clean it.

Added on April 6, 2008, 5:53 pmand not those sticky type ones

doubt the heatsink will stick to the MOFSETS if you use thermal paste.
plus when you push down the pins, the thermalpaste will ooze out if you apply too much.

That's the Thermalright Chill Factor.
Thermalright Chill Factor isn't a real performer.

You should've bought either Arctic Cooling MX-2 or Tuniq TX-2.
Those two are the real performer.

I applied 1/4 of pea size on the cpu only, and it spread evenly across the cpu and heatsink.
