What is the market price of Arctic Cooling MX-1 and Arctic Cooling MX-2?... The shop quoted me RM35 for MX-1 and RM42 for MX-2 ... Is it overpriced?

You don't have to follow according to the instructions... For me.. I spread the TIM throughout the CPU evenly and as thin as possible... So thin that it looks like that part isn't covered with TIM but it is... Don't apply on both CPU and heatsink... CPU is enough... Btw how much is MX-2 you bought? I ask a shop about it they say its RM42...

If i am not mistaken, the reason behind not using nail polish remover for cleaning CPU is because it contains fragrant oil, which is likely to trap heat. Correct me if i am wrong.

nail polish remover is easier for removing the hard TIM on the CPU than alcohol.. You can use alcohol to wipe it clean after that... wink.gif

I was trying to clean my old AMD processor's heatsink (2800) and to my surprise, I could not pull ut the heatsink. LOL. it's like it's glued t the proc. and when I tried with more force, the processor came out of the socket (0.O) still stuck to the heatsink. I did my cleaning, stuffe it back into the coket and it still works fine, but I could not sepparate the proc from the heatsink for a new layer of thermal paste. any ideas?

wat the... what thermal paste u used?.. thermal glue ar?... shakehead.gif
