QUOTE(IcEMoCHa @ Apr 29 2008, 10:20 AM) yeap u can... but the temperature changes isn't that significant... maybe 0.5 - 1C change in temperature... I beg to differ, i got a 10C idle drop using MX-1 Tho of course it also involves applying additional pressure with washers Then again i'm using an extremely hot card |

QUOTE(vey99 @ Feb 26 2007, 06:03 PM) I bought a tube of Coolermaster nanoFusion, used it couple of times when setting up 2 rigs, then left it for like 4 months (roughly) in my toolbox. Last month I try to use, it harden oredi. Just to share... very old quote, but i searched, and not many mentioning nanofusionMy tube of AS5 bought earlier also no problem my nanofusion happens exactly like the quoted too i thought it was supposed to be like that, superviscous but when i applied it, it is like applying plasticine on the heatsink (i applied on the heatsink) then i got frustrated i wiped it off and applied the TIM bundled with the heatsink is nanofusion more liquidy if used earlier? or all nanofusions like this? plasticine-like? |

Hi guys..
I'm sorry if this question was asked before. I just bought an Q6600 and of course it already has the thermal pad on it. However, I googled and discovered that the thermal pad provided is not good enough and it is recommended to apply thermal grease. My questions are: 1. Do I really need to apply the grease or the thermal pad is simple good enough? 2. Can I apply the grease with the pad or must I remove the pad first? (I read somewhere that the pad must be removed before applying the grease, so I just wanna double confirm.) 3. If I need to remove the pad, what can I use? I tried to purchase the ArcticClean from moderno.com but its sold out >< Thanks! |

I've got one more question.
When I was fixing my HSF, I wasn't sure if I had pushed down all the 4 knobs properly. So, I took it off and saw that some part of the thermal pad from my Q6600 was already on the CPU. But I did not clean/remove it and I just fix back my HSF. Please note that I did it before turning on my comp, which means the thermal pad did not melt yet. So, will my CPU spoil since I did not remove the thermal pad? Thanks! |
